New Al-Star and re-release Safari for 2022? Rumors.

If Lamy reissues both Petrol's and Dark Lilac's matching inks, dare I hope that they will reissue Copper Orange, as well? I missed getting a T-52 bottle of it by a cat's whisker! Cartridges are all well and good but sooner or later, the water will evaporate out of the plastic and I'll have no Copper Orange left. (I mean, I could reconstitute the inevitable residue that will be left behind, but I haven't a clue what the water to dye ratio should be for a true resurrection of the ink.)

So I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Petrol, Dark Lilac, AND Copper Orange to get reissued! ♥

But of course when the "French Blue" reboot was first being discussed on FPN, I was facepalming because I'd lucked into a used French Blue on eBay and got it for about the same price as a new Safari would have been, since there was already a converter installed (and the matte finish hides the bite marks that were on the end of the barrel pretty well...).

@ninad You are correct. The "French Blue" is glossy. To my knowledge there is no matte blue Safari.

Think mine is pretty definitely matte finish.  Which is good, because it hides the bite marks at the end of the barrel from the previous owner.  

Which is why I want to (hopefully) get to the Lamy Soho store in NYC sometime over the holidays (not sure of travel plans yet).  I've seen a photo of the new Blue and Red Safari side by side with the standard Blue, but really want to see the Blue  and Red in person to see if I want one or not (and if not, then I'll wait for that new 2023 purple al-Star (Violet?) to come out.

Okay, I apologize.  You guys were right and I was wrong....  Looked at the French Blue Safari today, and it isn't a matte finish like I thought....   But I don't think of it as being shiny/glossy like the "standard" blue Safari is.  So, if I have time when I'm in NYC over the holidays, I may try to get down to the Lamy Soho store and actually see if I can  take a look at the Blue and Red next to the regular Blue.  But am still holding out, I think for the Violet al-Star for next year....

I’m right there with you, @inkstainedruth. I have the Charcoal, Petrol, and Dark Lilac Safaris and I can’t wait to have matching AL-Stars.  If I can source black wire clips for the upcoming AL-Stars, they truly will match the Safaris.
