Schneider ink cartridges anyone?

Being a newbie, I do not want to buy many bottles with different ink colours, although I'd like to try some, apart from the royal blue that I have in Quick and Pelikan ink bottles.

My idea is to use cartridges whenever possible now, with my Lamy and Online pens.

A friend who is into pens and inks mentioned the Schneider ink cartridges, and I would like to ask for your opinions, the experts on the matter. I do believe that the ink quality will not be top notch, but it will be used on inexpensive  pens. I just need to try colours in order to decide on two or three.

Would you recommend Schneider ink cartridges?

Would I recommend Schneider ink cartridges? If you're looking for somewhat generic black or blue, and are not particular about the ink, yes. I've used them in cartridge only pens for years, no issues.  (from Bic to Boheme). They're inexpensive, easily available for me, and they fit pens that take other standard international cartridges.

Thanks

But you mention blue and / or black. Any idea about other colours?

No, those are what I've seen, they're available in office supply stores and such, can't remember seeing other colors. But if those are available to you why not take the plunge and try them? My guess is they would be comparable to the blue or black - well-performing fp ink, not great but not bad either...

They might be available with school pens, for example.

I think there may be a misunderstanding with the Schneider brand. Despite producing inexpensive products, their quality standards are top notch. I tell you from my own experience, I have three pens and one felt tip.
Coincidentally, I opened a blue cartridge yesterday and quite liked the ink. I then did a search on this brand's ink and found this interesting thread:
https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/118477-schneider-red-review/

The bottles are identical to Pelikan 4001, although that doesn't mean it's the same ink.
There is a range of pastel colors. I think they have more of an artistic approach.

You mentioned wanting to use cartridges with your Lamy pens.  Lamy uses a proprietary cartridge shape, so you are (mostly) restricted to using Lamy cartridges with your Lamy pens.  I say "mostly" because Parker cartridges also happen to fit Lamy pens.  In any case, I don't think it's possible to use Schneider cartridges in a Lamy.

That's right, they are not compatible. Your observation is quite timely.

@Hani7up, if you just want to test the ink to see if it's worth buying a bottle, you can always draw the ink out with a syringe. I have done this many times with Parker cartridges.
You have another option, you say you have an Online, well, this brand makes Lamy compatible cartridges. Their cartridges have two mouths, one at each end, universal and Lamy. In addition, they sell an assortment of colors. If you do not find them in Spain, you may be able to find them on ebay, in German stores.

Fair enough, will try them, thanks!
