A "new version" of the Hero 565 that just came out of the Orange Connex. I'm honestly not completely sure what's new about this version.

I like the look of hooded nibs. This pen has a nice girth. At 12g I'm wishing it were a little heavier. It flows reasonably well once you've got the first letter of the first word out of the way.

It's probably an upgraded variant to a Cartridge/Converter system instead of the old fixed aerometric system .

Newbie mistake! Thanks. I fixed it.

Any type of ink, that is not specified on the packaging as being for fountain pens, it would be better not to use it in a fountain pen, there are many inks out there that are not for fountain pens, and once you put that in a fountain pen, you can almost certainly say goodbye to your pen.

Not a whole pen, but I have a Wing Sung EF nib in my Conklin Crescent (the modern Mark Twain edition) - a big improvement on the uninspiring piece of metal it originally came with.

I got these 3 today, in from Temu UK. A very good price on all 3 and I really liked the decoration of the pens.

All are Jinhao

250 Fine nib

X450 medium nib

Dragon which is essentially another X450 medium nib.

These sellers are great because all the pens, when flushed, show a colour tint to the plain water I use to flush them which shows that they have been tested. I get these because of the heft of the pen - they are brass pens.

I like these as well because it is easy to modify the nibs and invariably I turn them into italics.

Now, I have to choose inks for them and I am trying to stay away from my usual suspects. I want to get some funky colours going or some good sheening/shimmering inks into them.

Another reason why I like these pens is that the nibs and feeds allow for a good flow of ink that does the shimmering/sheening inks justice. Plus, they are easy to strip down and clean.

I'm really drawn to this pen for some reason.

I guess that's why I forgot and posted the same thing on Monday! 😆

Inked up the Jinhao 95 last night with Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black, and using it today.  Giving the Jinhao 65 a break.

Jinhao 9019 EF demonstrator with Pelikan 4001 Dark green

Jinhao 9019 EF black with Waterman Serenity Blue

They should have made these high-quality pens in 2017 before I bought so many unnecessary pens (which I mostly sold at a loss).
