These are very handsome pens.

Currently most used pen: Lamy 2000, Makrolon <F> -- filled with Lamy Pink Cliff ink

A Moonman M2 (although I think they're now branded as several other things like St PenPP, MAJOHN, Mojiang, and who knows what else). I've got it loaded up with some black ink of dubious origin... quite possibly a sloppy mix of Noodlers Bernanke Black, spit and Speedball Super-Black India.

Narwhal Key West in Islamorada Gold. I purchased this pen before they changed the spelling (but apparently not the pronunciation) of their brand name to "Nahvalur." It's inked up with Noodler's Ink -black.

Today I'm using a Nahvalur (Narwhal) Original Plus in Garibaldi Orange. It's inked up with Noodler's Baystate Blue. Not only does it look fantastic, but it's also probably the best straight-out-of-the-box writing pen I own. I try to have at least two inked-up pens on my person every day; one black and one blue. This is probably going to always be one of the two. It's much smoother and consistent than the Narwhal Key West I had with me yesterday. The only thing I might change is how top-heavy it feels when posted. I like heavy/larger pens, but this one is maybe a tad bit too heavy with the cap stuck on the back.

Wing Sung 629 EF (can't remember what it's inked with)

A remarkably perfect writing pen right out of the box. The nib is more of a Western EF rather than a Japanese.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

You are writing with a great pen! Nice!

Newly acquired Moonman 136 in burgundy.  Nice pen but a poor writer.  It has a medium nib that writes like a broad.  I tried three different inks with same result.  It is much too "wet" for me.

Does the nib have other problems besides the wetness?

No.  It appears to be in new condition.

A "new version" of the Hero 565 that just came out of the Orange Connex. I'm honestly not completely sure what's new about this version.

I like the look of hooded nibs. This pen has a nice girth. At 12g I'm wishing it were a little heavier. It flows reasonably well once you've got the first letter of the first word out of the way.

Today I've got a Sheaffer VFM in service with cheap Speedball Super Black. It's a bit too skinny and is not a spectacular writer, but it's not the worst pen I've ever used. I'm pretty sure these models were manufactured in China; so that's why I've posted it in this thread.

Speedball Super Black

Is that the India ink? If so, it's probably not suitable for fountain pens.

Will work for pens...

Newbie mistake! Thanks. I fixed it.

Wing Sung 601A. I like the plunger on this pen. It writes consistently and creates a nice thin line (which is good for some writing I do).

And this time I have it filled with Noodler's black. 😉
