What's on your Inky Wish List 2022?

I think we’re all doomed. I’ve been buying Monteverde Mountains of the World pens. That got me wondering if any inks had Mount or Mountain in their names. Then I had to realize I didn’t need to buy more ink for the pens.  I didn’t search exhaustedly, but the only one I found was in a Colorverse set, in the little bottle. 
 

And yet, three of them have not been filled….

My father's lecture from my childhood on the difference between 'want' and 'need' never fails to jump into memory when making ink/pen-related purchases. It does seem to give me a modicum of restraint and a least I can say that I don't have enough variety of ink to have a unique color everyday for even half a year! 

 

Given the recent revelation that Van Dieman's might be mixtures of Jinhao ink plus some great successes in mixing some of the inks I already own, I think that mixing, rather than purchasing, will likely be a rapidly increasing trend in my inky abide.

Earlier this week, I just bought 22 new bottles - yes, bottles not samples -  of ink!  I think I am doomed.

Last ink purchased was Levenger Blue Bahama and Forest Green (bottle #2). Last bottle acquired (Thanks, Amberlea!) was Pennonia Orgona.  That was a surprise. Don't really have anything on a list currently to acquire.

I wonder if I could get samples of the mountain inks @I-am-not-really-here provided. Drats Birmingham Mountain Laurel is pink. I have 2 pink inks, which is enough for me.

I’ve been scouting Vanness. Found another ink Kobe #35 Mount Suwa. Plus some Peacock inks. I have a Retro 51 Peacock color fountain pen on its way from Belgium that I bought on eBay. 
 

I ended up ordering 16 ink samples. Plus two notebooks are in the order.

My father used to lecture on this as well.  And I am always asking myself, "Do I want another ink, or do I need another ink? "  We all know the answers to those questions.

And you should be!  Today was ink #91.  And I have a lot more to go - perhaps not quite a year's worth . . . but the year is far from over.  😁

Amberlea sent me samples of four Noodler's inks; one I already had a bottle of (and love, so that sample is staying right here!). Two are now on my wish list:

Henry Hudson blue

Legal lapis

the fourth was American Aristocrat: I am not sure what to think of that. I have some onionskin that I'm using currently, and the ink feathered very badly on it. Diluted, it's better behaved, but the color is not as interesting to me...

also on my wishlist, and quite a long time already, is

Dromgoole's Blue steel

Oh, I was with you on the writing with a new ink everyday . . . then you got to the 22 new inks and I realized I'd better back slowly away from you. I already own 35 bottles and some unknown number of samples.

Well I put in an order with Vanness during the ongoing ink sale (10pct off appears automatically in the cart), knocking diamine peach punch and monarca Cardona off my list, and samples of the kwz green golds.

 

I am very excited to try Inkebara too.
