Does any one know of a deep, rich blood red color similar to the photo below?

Diamine "Fire Embers" from the Inkvent calendar 2019 seems to come close.

If the blood is a bit more congealed, you have Writers Blood or Oxblood also by diamine, but neither of the last two is particularly bright.

Outside of the Diamine range, look at the Pennonia "Ermitaño"

Or to Sheaffer Skrip red.

OTH you may o for a darker-bluish one and call it venous blood instead of arterial blood. :D

If you are to be ephemeral, leave a good scent.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

My wife likes to use MB Corn Poppy Red with her MB Agatha which isn't a bad call but is sadly unobtanium which makes this post a lot less useful!

Diamine Ruby might be close to what you're looking for, kind of BIC ballpoint red.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Diamine Classic Red is a good solid "true" red. Many of the brighter reds either lean pink or lean orange. Classic Red does neither.

While I think of that as a wonderful bright red, it is not IMO blood red.  (For blood red, look at Antitiem for the anemic, Diamine Roses, Diamine Oxblood).  BUT for bright red, check out the thread in my signature below.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Thanks all!   My dad drove a 1969 Corvette in custom Candy Apple red similar to this his whole life.

From the swatches posts, I think De Atramentis Red Roses looks pretty close.   Thank you for all the replies!

Got some Van Dieman’s Bay of Fire today in the mail.  I added one drop of Intense Purple dye into 5ml of it and it came out very close to what I was looking for!   It’s more intense than the pic shows.  Thanks again all!

I think De Atramentis has a Candy Apple red. Or something like that.
