@amberleadavisWow, I've never seen a 800 size pen in a green demonstrator. Very, very nice!

Edited to note that I found info on the  model at "The Pelikan's Perch" evidently it was a special edition limited to 3,000 pieces.  One is on eBay right now for $1,800!  When my ship comes in...

I found it for MUCH less - it has been a grail pen for me. It was listed with TERRIBLE pictures that made it appear to be broken.  I even got the matching pencil of which even fewer were made.  Mine even came with a PF Medium nib.  I absolutely adore this pen.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

It’s been awhile, even though I’ve gotten new stub and italic nib pens. The one I got on Thursday is the first to get to write and be shown off.

I love catching up on this thread - so many great stubs and even better handwriting. I found more than a dozen inked pens on my desk today, all but one with stub nibs and all in writing shape. Looks like I’ll have to clean some up and get better organized!

@dcpritch Your letter arrived.  I adore you and Shelly!  Pull out my Sheaffer with that amazing nib and USE it!  We love seeing your penmanship even if you don't think it is as good as it was, it is still great to see the pens in use. You are an inspiration.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Today is a comparison.

Montblanc Italic Expressive from Fritz Schimpf and the Franklin Christoph 1.9 Music nib.

Great line variation from both.

Both are very large nibs.

The Franklin Christoph is broader.

hmmm...do music nibs actually flex?
Or are the slits in them just for ink conveyance?

I can't speak to music nibs as a class, but I have music nibs from F-C, Pilot, Platinum, and Sailor. They are all nails.

I do have the FC Music nibs. They dont flex, but form a nice rail road. Plenty of  flow to burn the gasoline.

There are music nibs that flex, like the Waterman music nib Gourmet Pens has shown in several videos, but based on my personal experience I'd say that the usual modern music nib is just generously sloshing ink on paper (if it is well-behaved), without any noticeable flex.

The pen is running out of ink. Bottom section writing is the accurate look.
