Just a warning. I will be posting 6 or 7 stub nib writing photos soon. I’ve written in two Tomoe River paper notebooks with 6 pens so far, and might add a seventh before I post the photos. The pens are all the same brand.

All seven of the pens I’m sharing are made by TWSBI. I put ink in the newest one, then the others wanted to show off too. Some of the pens have been inked and waiting. I wrote on the old Tomoe first, so you’ll likely see the inks look darker before they settle into their colors.

First up is the first TWSBI pen I got, a Diamond 580 in “Christmas” green.  I had to buy it with a B nib, and later got it the 1.1mm stub nib.

My newest TWSBI Diamond 580 is the RBT version which I think stands for Red Blue Transparent. This one has the TWSBI logo as the finial.

My first TWSBI Diamond Mini was the AL version in Mint Blue. I thought it was so cool.  It was a birthday gift from one of my brothers.  I wrote with it last of my Mini pens. I do address how it seems the Mini 1.1mm stub nib is not as wide as the Diamond 580 stub.

My next TWSBI Diamond Mini is the white and rose gold version 2. I had seen the first version too late, and wished I’d gotten one. Several years later this one came out. At first I thought I don’t need it, I have my Mint Blue one. But time and aggravations made me impulsively buy it.

When I was searching for the white and rose gold Mini, I’d see listings for the black and silver one. Once I had the white and rose gold, the black Mini kept calling. I wrote with these pens in a different order versus the way I’m posting them.

TWSBI Ecos dominate my collection, and the most recent one was a Christmas gift from last year.

Finally is one of the newest TWSBI models, the Swipe. It was another gift from last year. The Pear version is calling me. I’m trying to resist. It is a good price point to try a TWSBI 1.1mm stub nib.

Wow now this time, I really see the difference in the paper.  The ink on the old paper is so much darker.

I’m not sure if that’s because of the pens sitting, then starting on the old paper. Or because I did this in a living room chair on my lap. Or maybe it is accurate.

I did take some time!  From writing, to lining the pages and pens up for photos.  Next I edited the photos, then uploaded them. Finally I posted them in their own post. I tried putting 3 photos in one post. I think 7 would have been too many all at once.

I appreciate your kind comments.

  • 3 weeks later...

Since the pen arrived, I have inked it 7 times (but not with 7 different inks).  I love the MB Fritz Schimpf Italic Edge.

Here it is in action with Stipula IG Sepia.

Very cool @amberleadavis Thank you for sharing the nibs in action and the poem.

I ordered the TWSBI Swipe in pear with a 1.1mm stub nib. I think Iroshizuku Chiku-rin would look good in it.

I hope @dcpritch posts here again. His stub nib photos were amazing.  It was fun when he saw a post I made in the first version of this thread and commented on it.

Another one with the Lamy 2000 OB nib. I'm learning how to use an OB nib.  It writes differently from a stub.

This pen writes beautifully too!
