The pen is running out of ink. Bottom section writing is the accurate look.

Running out of fuel is fun. It is refill time! Great shade.

Thank you. I thought the pen had Birmingham Eroded Bronze in it. Instead it looks to be one of two possible Robert Oster gold inks.

I got this pen, and it has sat empty. Then I finally decided on an ink.

I asked Salvatore to grind a nib to his "CSI"(Smooth Cursive Italic) that writes a 0.9mm line. He chose to use a 1.4mm Stub to customize. This is a delightful writer. The Bock #8 nib is a bit soft and springy. The blue feed is very handsome.

I was wrong. The ink is Diamine Golden Brown.

I got an Opus 88 Picnic pen recently, much surprised to see them for sale. I cleaned out the TWSBI, and filled it today with a new ink. The ink that got on the TWSBI page also got on my jeans. Grrr!

Just got this beautiful Conway Stewart in Grey Marble with italic broad nib. Not a bad way to start the weekend!

Conway-Stewart Italic nibs from that era are wonderful with a lovely, springy feel. I have had almost all of mine custom ground to make them crisper, and they are among my favorite writers.

Congratulations of your new pen. Enjoy it in good health!  Italic is my everyday handwriting style.

That's one beautiful pen, and I like CSIs.  Do you have a picture of the grip? I can't tell if it's a step down or not.

Thanks!  As it happens, I do have a photo of the section. The step-down is very slight. If you have other MZ Grandes, this is one of those.

These, and they have been for almost every day the last two years (not that I write every day, though).

I carry them in an old cell phone leather pouch with a microfiber spectacle cleaning cloth.

In general, I have found that it is not so difficult to find leather pouches for old cell phone models that (being now out of production) turn out sale-cheap and can be re-used for carrying pens.

And, yes, I know, there is still space for one or two. :(

Hi,

Beautiful pen. How broad do these stubs run. ?1.3-1.5mm.
