Looking for medieval manuscripts?

That may the most useless post ever but I thought I would do some publicity for my university and maybe help some members here.

You can find 2653 digitalized medieval manuscripts on the Swiss website e-codices. The website is in English, easy to use and completely free of charge. The pictures are really high definition.

The main drawback is that you only have Swiss manuscripts. There is a bit of everything: bibles, illuminated manuscripts, ugly accounting books, etc.

If I posted that message in the wrong forum, please move it to the right one. If I broke any rule by posting that link, please feel free to delete my post.

Guillaume

Thanks for the link. It is always inspiring to see old hands at work.

If you are to be ephemeral, leave a good scent.

Thanks for the link.  I do medieval recreation/reenactment (yes, I have really weird hobbies) and know a lot of people who do calligraphy and illumination for award scrolls, and I'll bet that some of them would like to see that website too.  Of course, knowing some of the people I know, they might have already SEEN that site....

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."
