I really don't think you know enough to have a pen customized when there are so many companies that make various sizes.

Why waist time re-inventing the wheel, when there are hundreds of different wheels to buy?

I don't know the guys that turn wood pens, with standard nib cartridge guts. Lots of nice wood.

Yard O' Lead, silver pens. Dupont makes great pens, Cd'A makes fancy ones. Conway Stewart may or may not be still making pens (well worth buying second hand)...I often :puddle: over them... always too expensive for me and the nib was not like I wished. Too hard. Waldman silver or silver accented pens, in Germany.....some day I'll take a vintage semi-flex Bock nib down the road to them and have them mount it.

I saw something on TV where 10 or so noted English Craftsmen were making a pen, stating with O. In they were somewhat  bespoke, they were out of my range. I don't remember if it was Ohto or Onoto pens

Pelikan and MB. Germany. I wish you many months of dithering.

Italian.

Arurua Since 1919, Aurora is the only Italian pen company that produces its own fountain pen nib completely in-house. Used....there were very many versions of the Verdi. I almost bought one, but at 1/3 off  E 750 on sale, it was just a bit too much for my wallet. Instead I bought a MB Woolf...also on 1/3rd off sale. The Verdies:thumbup: are Aurua's version of the Pelikan Toledo:thumbup:.

Montegrappa....I did see one with it's very own teak temple.:lticaptd:You would have needed a shapely secretary to carry it on a silk pillow after you. It was too big to use except for using as a signature pen, for buying a  100 meter yacht.
Visconti...there are some nice ones.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

The cheapest lessons are from those who learned expensive lessons. Ignorance is best for learning expensive lessons.
