I just switched from my Lamy Dialog 3 I got for Christmas to my Lamy 2k.

I constantly keep my MB 149 inked.

One of the Sheaffer school pens (the one I have a converter for), after attempting to flush the Red Shadow Wave Vac -- which sat too long before flushing, and I think the diaphragm may be shot as a result.

Still trying to gear up for what is going to be a real mess -- apparently the converter in one of my Pilot Metropolitans got dislodged from the back of the feed (and right AFTER i refiled it a few days before).  So trying to decide if there's any way I can salvage at least some of the ink (Namiki Black) -- possibly by dumping the current fill into a nalgene bottle, since I don't seem to currently have any spare sample vials....

My marine amber Carene is going to get the Montblanc Toffee Brown scrubbed out and given a rest for a while, time to call the Alga green Leonardo Momento Zero out of the bullpen and fill with Diamine Sherwood green for spring!

Well it's getting to be time to clean a few. I have fourteen needing to be cleaned. Ten c/c, two piston, two aerometric. I should clean at least half.

Just finished cleaning 10 pens that have been in daily use for the last weeks/months or are newly arrived.

Making way for the triumphant return of my serviced 146!

It is so bare on my desk.... and my MB is 'one courier depot away'! (= one sleep away)!

The much loved 'Meisterstuck' is destined to the hold pride of place and my two Kaweco Sports are never out of reach!

Cleaned pens going into suspended animation are;

Sheaffer, Targa 1007

Pelikan M400 Green Strese.

All three Newtons (Elizabethan, Majestic, Townsend)

True Writer

Pelikan M100 and M205 DUO

TWSBI Swipe

Ranga Zayante Z2

Have some Parker 45's and 51's to clean. And I refilled the Newton Majestic with Levenger Forest Green. (It had a different ink in it)

Really nice looking blue Estie there!  Esterbrook or Pelican are going to be responsible for my next loss of money...

I cleaned out both of my MB149s.  I haven't used them for a while.  They're real 'enigma' pens for me.  I love the shape, size and aesthetics but neither of them write particularly well.  I clean them out every now and again and refill them, only to be met with the same familiar level of disappointment when I write with them.  One is a fairly standard medium but writes worse than pens that cost a tenth of the price.  The other is a broad which Oxonian ground to LF oblique for me years ago but has never really written as smoothly as it ought to.....

Recent illness has left me with arthritis and stiff hands. I have had to put smaller pens away and start using larger ones. I bought some Jinhao 159 and x159 to see if the size suited me better and I have just flushed my first 159.

I have 5 of them, all different colours.  The size is great but ultimately they're pretty cheap and cheerful and if you substitute a good nib, they write fine.  All of mine are currently nibless and will probably stay in my odds & sods drawer....  Try a Ranga.  I have two of the 9B Giants and they're really great pens.

My Parker 51 in Burgundy,  my Beijing Jinxing 28 and a 'blast from the past' if anyone remembers them, the rather odd looking Rotring Core.

I found the 'abandoned' Rotring while searching for my Matt Black Safari.

The Rotring is putting up a bit of resistance as it's been left in a drawer with a cartridge still inside 😊 and as you can see it's not very 'ear bulb friendly' I've left her to soak and 'cool off' a little 🤣  An odd looking pen but a surprisingly good writer and more comfortable in the hand than it looks. (I got it as a set with a ballpoint for £5 came with a presentation case and everything👍 The thread stripped on the ballpoint. They sent me a second and that failed in exactly the same way.

How old are your X159's I'm assuming not very....as when I purchased mine (10 years ago) I'm pretty sure it was only available in black & chome ? I've seen another post with a member asking 'where can I buy #8 nibs for my X159'  Have to say mine looks like a #6 nib and writes like a wet Med... I looked for a Ranga.... I like large pens too.... let me know if you know of anywhere I could get one at a more reasonable price than I could find... I do fancy one of those. 👍

I'm sorry to hear of your experience with your MB149's. I'm pretty sure they were probably your 'grail pen' or at least one of them.  I'm sorry to say some of my 'best writers' have cost less than £20...and the one's I have inked the most...🙁

I'm pretty sure if you 'throw some more money at them' you could get them so you can enjoy them. Rather than they be a constant annoyance and torment.

I suppose I've had the black one for about 4 years.  I also have yellow, blue, red and orange.   They take #6 nibs.   I bought my Rangas direct from Ranga.  I think the most I paid was about £75.
