What Pen did you clean out today?

Trying to get some stuff flushed out and put away so they don't sit getting cloggy during Christmas traveling.  So (technically yesterday, since it's now JUST after midnight EST) it was two pens: 

1) Pelikan M405 Stresemann, B nib (it had had Edelstein Rose Quartz in it).

2) Parker Deluxe Challenger, EF nib (finishing a fill of diluted Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black).

Going to try and get one or two more flushed out tomorrow....

Waterman 52, seemed to leak from somewhere; gently heated the barrel to remove it, the sac doesn't seem to be leaking... Cleaned, reassembled, trying with Yama Guri... Maybe the nib really doesn't like to be flexed and produces a movement in the feed? can't see any cracks either, working so far.

Stipula Etruria 991:  finally opened the years-long clogged section/feed.  Still soaking, still giving up ink.   Next, see if the captive converter is ink free.

I've been cleaning out a lot of my pens that I don't frequently use lately. I used to want to keep as many pens inked up as possible just in case I had the urge to use one on a whim. I found that too many were having hard starts or just outright not wanting to write. So when I find a dried out pen, I clean and flush it out and set it back in Maison de Plume. I cleaned out four of my Lamy AL-Star/Safari pens this week. I had one with Nitrogen ink in it and it took forever to flush the nib clear. Over the last few weeks I've cleaned out over a dozen pens and have left them empty. I'd like to get to a point where I have fewer than a dozen pens inked at a time. 

 

My issue is that flushing a pen is a PITA. If I could have all of my pens inked and they would stay well primed and ready to go, I would. 

 

Plus is any else getting more practical with their ink choices? Although I have dozens of ink choices and colors I find myself wanting to ink more with blues, blacks, greens and useable colors over the more whimsical colors like pinks, purples, reds, yellows or oranges? Don't get me wrong, I still love a sheen or shade. I just find myself wanting more suitable ink colors for day-to-day usage. Is it just me?

Cleaning catch up. Too many empty pens had accumulated. Four so far: two Pilot Kakuno and two Sailor Lecoule. Next...

 

And an Osmiroid 65 with a feed full of  ink. Third shot glass of soaking and the water is still turning blue.

I cleaned a few pens late last night: 2 Nonami piston fillers, 2 Platinum short longs, a Preppy,  a Geha 3VN (I ended up having to stub it, the tines were really uneven and there was no tipping), and a Speedball calligraphy 1.1 italic.

Yesterday I flushed out the Parker Vector "Flowers" pen (after finishing the fill of diluted Robert Oster Cult Blue -- even diluted it's a nice color ink, BTW).

I’m cleaning out two. The first is a blue Jinhao 82 that I put a Nemosine 1.1mm stub nib on. Not sure what ink it will get. The other is a Jinhao x750 Shimmering Sands that will get a nib swap to a Nemosine 1.1mm stub nib. Again, not sure what ink it will get. It had Iroshizuku Yama Budo.

Neither quick nor easy like the preceding Parker, but cleaned a gray Visconti Wall Street LE.  And an easy Delta Dolce Vita OS.

I just cleaned out a Pilot leather pen section, a Nonami Chinese stub, and the Asvine V169 F, which was inked for most of the past year. Down to 16 inked!

Yesterday it was the Medieval Lapis Konrad, because diluted Noodler's 54th Massachusetts was getting cloggy.

Seem to have gotten it clean without even having to pull the nib and feed out....

Pelikan M800 Custom Raden with 18k fine nib. Cleaned out and put silicon grease on the piston before storing. While I was at it, I ran the piston up and down in all of my Pelikans (18 of them) and only found one other that needed greasing (my M800 demonstrator). Greased it up also and put it back with the flock.
