Pilot metal falcon got scrubbed today, had some months old ink that needed to come out, will probably refill and put back in rotation tomorrow.

1970's Pilot Elite pocket pen with the desirable Soft Fine nib.  I could''t stop it from skipping, so it sat unused for a long time.  But the nib is so nice, so springy and pleasant, I decided to give it a two day soak in pen flush, periodically emptying and refilling it, always expelling just a little more light pink inky fluid.  Today I wrote a page in a Clairefontaine A4 notebook, dipping the pen only.  It wrote flawlessly and beautifully, but now I'm afraid to fill the pen.

I flushed my hero of noodler's Rome that I've been using for over a year, possibly two. It now has Manhattan blue. It's more purple that I remembered

Dug out my old Parker 45 Flighter Deluxe Gold purchased back in the 70's. It had sat in a drawer for at least 12 years and was clogged with dry ink.

Completely stripped the filler and nib the former needing a good soak. Scrubbed the nib with a soft toothbrush, upon the final clean and drying filled with Noodler Hunter Green. A colour I quite like.

The nib and feed on this 45 has always been a bit dry when writing no matter what ink is put in it.

Still a comfortable pen to write with, the tapered barrel is easy to hold.

Perhaps one day will send it off to get the nib attended to. Have other fountain pens.

Both the P51 and the Snorkel. A couple of my finger tips have been somewhat bluish from this task, lately.

I've had nothing newly inked to add to the writing today thread cos I've been writing out all these I already had inked... and there will be more, I'm still writing with them.

In this batch: a Greenfields school pen, two Pilot Kakuno, two Kaweco Perkeo, a Jinhao 'Morandi' and an unknown 'Genius Germany' advertising pen. (That last one will not write after much soaking and ultrasonic cleaning, I'm beginning to suspect the nib is glued in place... have given up.)

And a TWSBI Eco Clear EF cos it had a cap full of ink. A waste of a fill of Lamy Petrol.

Just made another stab at flushing the Parker 45 Flighter.   It's currently soaking, barrel and section down, in ammonia solution.  Ironically, the nib, feed and hood seem to be mostly clean.

I'd like to be able to flush the barrel from behind, but have been unable to detach the converter (wondering now if it was glued into place by some prior owner...).

Oh no, that sounds like a trip to the repair shop.

Well, at least it HAD a converter in it.  Got it at an estate sale company's in-store sale a few weeks ago, along with a low-end Sheaffer Snorkel, and a c/c filler Waterman (of which I have as yet been unable to ID the specific model).

Dunno what the ink in the 45 was -- other than it was black, very saturated (although that may have been partly due to it sitting un-flushed for so long before I got it), and looked to be the same as whatever ink had been in the 61 Flighter I got a while back on eBay (the seller got that pen at an estate sale and had no idea what the ink was).

Today's entry in the "needs flushed" category is the blue Cross Solo, B nib.  Undiluted, Diamine Blue Edition Gingerbread is a nice light brown.  Diluted, though, it was pretty yellow and difficult to read on the page.

And yes, I said "needs flushed" because I've lived in Pittsburgh long enough to have picked up some local slang....  Although I do NOT "redd up" things....  And being a New York girl originally, I do NOT drink "pop".... :P
