The Lowly BIC

Was just web surfing for pen and some how ran across these.  I'm not a fan of standard BIC pens since they are too small for me but in the hands of the right person, they can produce magic.  Based on their talent, we should be thankful they use their genius for art instead of evil because I think they would be super villians!

 

Oscar Ukonu - I wouldn't have believed these weren't photographs if I didn't see a video of him doing one!

 

 

Unknown Artist, but their skill is at the same level as Oscar's but with color!

The Bic crystal is a great pen. It is cheep it works well there are very few points of failure because there is only one moving part. You can use them in spark fee environments.

I read the 100 Billionth Bic Crystal was sold in 1986. Supposedly it is also the most copied/faked pen in the world. They claim the way to tell a fake from the real thing is the fakes don't have the breather hole on the side.

(surprising anyone would fake a 27¢ pen)

Also, the hole added to the end of the cap "was added to prevent suffocation when the cap is swallowed" ... "When" ... not "if" ...  I must be in the minority. I never chewed the daRn cap.

I love my X-Tra Bold 1.6m BICs.  I just don't show them off on FPN.

We used a package of bic crystals to death at the water plant ...  All of them still 3/4 full.  Nice looking pen but they don't last.

I use them as refills for vintage ballpoints. Work great, and write nicely. My favorites are the 1.6 bold ones.
