Postcard Swap

My postcards were all 4inches by 6inches. I don't know why, but she decided to use the postal scale as well. Was that the problem? She kept weighing them, changing postcards around, weighing them again, and came up with the final total of $1.67 for each international and $0.35 for each domestic. Sorry for in inquiry, but this is my first time sending post cards. :)

You called this a "mail center." Some places that offer mail services but are not actual post offices (like UPS stores) have significant mark-ups above postal service rates. Watch out for that.

I'll be stopping by the post office this evening to drop off post cards to:

jakespeed

paulk

jazztonight

kazushizuku

However I just finished reading some penmanship posts and am now feeling extremely self-conscious about my casually sloppy handwriting style. I can only hope what I wrote is legible.

Anybody remotely interesting is mad, in some way or another.

Just got my first cards today from:

ginigin and

inkypete

And got one out to:

inkypete

After seeing their cards, I'm going to have to join tr3n1ty in penmanship class.

I've already got a backlog this early in the Exchange. I'll work on the ones for the rest of you this weekend.

I see. It was just called "Mail Center." There was a USPS down a couple of blocks, but being in a bind and not wanting to be late to class, I just chose Mail Center (I was walking). The first lady I talked to said that post cards would send for about $0.28 domestic, so I figured the second lady must have made some sort of mistake. The second lady helped me with the purchase since the first lady had to help another group of guests with passport photos. So either it was a mistake on her part of just a drastic mark up for not being an actual postal office. :(

Thanks for the reassurance, though. :)

So Monday morning I'll be sending them out in case your wondering way Cape Cod cards have a Ct. postal stamp.

Gees, I thought I was being rather slick -- sent some mult. invitations for postcard swaps **and flippin' lost all my replies in my message folder with the upgrade**

PLEASE -- if you'd like to swap postcards, resend your address.

Paul - the admins say they're working on it. Lots of info over in Community Feedback forum, but word is that the messages will be restored, but they decided to go ahead and make FPN operational again without a few features restored (like our messages). Official word is to be patient and they'll come back.

**WHEW!!!**

I was freaking out, too.

That's great news! I was looking through the 'sites and only one "news" I seen was in the the Community forum where everyone was praising the upgrade but voicing concern over their lost communications. Thanks for the response.

Let me second your ****WHEW***

It was quite a week receiving truly beautiful postcards! Received cards from Hennypenny, Raische58, GreenVelvet, Hannaahl, PMSalty, Kazushizuku, & Jazztonight. I just picked up some great vintage cards so you'll be receiving responses shortly.

My best,

I got my first postcard, but all my email messages here at the forum were deleted (I think it's because of the new forum outlook) and I can't seem to find the person's address who sent me his postcard! Even worse, I forgot his screenname here at FPN! Did the loss of messages happen to anyone else? The person who sent me the postcard is from Melbourne Australia, uses Lamy Safari with PR Ink Burgundy Mist, and his signature is Rok.

Yes - we all lost our messages temporarily. Admins, in another thread, have assured us that the messages will come back, they're still working out issues from the board software upgrade.

And I do the same thing, and I was also freaking out! I store a lot of addresses in one of my PM folders. Never fear - those messages should return.

My messages have already started to reappear, but the most recent is from July of last year.

I found a bunch of random postcards from Disney World today, and the first thing I thought of was to get rid of them via this postcard exchange. Anyone interested in postcards with dinosaurs on them?

Some of my read PMs and all of my unread PMs have been lost, so if anyone had sent me a message, please try again.

Happy postcarding, my pen friends!

Hi everyone,

I'm up early on Sunday morning--it's still dark here in Northern California.

I like the new look of the FPN site and some of the new features.

Still have not had my messages restored.

If you need my mailing info, please PM me.
