Please add me to the list as well. I live in an area of Canada famous for their Scottish heritage and annual Scottish Festival. I would appreciate postcards from any location

As a second post of the day, I checked my campus box and my first two post cards were waiting for me: Thanks paulk and jazztonight!

I also wrote my first couple cards this evening, and I'll deliver all the cards as a batch to the post office when I'm done.

:) I'd like to join in on the fun. Am I supposed to PM specific people to initiate each swap or... how does this work? The first couple of pages of this thread didn't help me much. xD Maybe I just didn't register it all yet.

:) But I'm from Southern California and would love to exchange postcards with anybody! Particularly overseas. ;) I have a thing for diverse cultures.

I really would love to receive postcards from all over and just be able to I guess, build a bond with those who enjoy fountain pens! :( I do note though, the way things are financially, I may be only sending out 1 or 2 per week depending on how things are.

Scroll through the thread and send your address by PM to anyone you'd like to swap postcards with--be sure to ask for their mailing address as well. Be patient, this is the vacation season.

Happy swapping!

I would like to declare postcard bankruptcy... I have received 9 postcards to date and replied to none. I promise I'll get on it, I swear. Maybe after a cup of tea... or two...

OK - I'm addicted! Have to admit it. Just completed and sent off 26 postcards over the weekend. Anyone know a good therapist?

Thank you orangesam - you made my day.

It was my pleasure Hanna!

I'm glad the UK & Swedish postal systems did their job efficiently :-)

Some time ago we had a few comments about whether people are here to swap just one card or multiple cards with other participants.

Did we come to a conclusion to this subject? Or is it just trial and error? If one doesn't get a reply, just strike that person off their mailing list?!

If I get a card back I send again. If I haven't heard from a person I might send another card anyway. Just up to you - can't find any written rules. It just sorts itself out over time.

My impression was that there was no consensus. Personally, I let the correspondent determine . After the introductory cards I send a reply. If there is no response I assume the person only wished to exchange one card and that is OK. Most seem to continue and I am delighted to have several with whom I exchange on a regular basis.

Al

I concur with what most everyone is saying--if I send out a card and get one in return, I will send another to that person. If not, then maybe yes, maybe no. There are so many of us who are swapping cards, that there appears to be no lack of interest!

Let me also say that the wide variety of postcards is astounding: Vintage, home-made, regional and travel-related, photographs--wow!

The other thing is that once you've exchanged several cards with someone, you begin to know more about him or her, it truly begins to develop into a friendship of sorts, and you look forward to getting the next card from that person.

But...it can start to get pricey--$0.98 stamps for a card from the US to anywhere other than the US, Canada or Mexico can begin to add up. However, getting a postcard from the UK, Australia, Scandinavia, the Philippines, as well as from Canada and the many other countries and states where our FPN friends live is, well, exciting!

Even my wife, who was skeptical of my whole fountain pen venture from the beginning, never fails to say, when she brings in the mail, "You've got some postcards!"

Ha!

Wow - my mailbox has really been happy the last week.

Received awesome cards from:

FredRydr

Steven6883

Inkypete

Greenvelvet

Inkypete, again

Hookem11

PaulK

Ibz (I wonder if I have driven through Bristol, I will have to find a map and take a look).

Now that I have found myself a "decent" fountainpen I will return cards by using it.

Thanks a lot!

Hoping you have a Happy Mail Day!

Hanna
