Recieved a card today from jeremy15 straight from Malaysia! Very cool to get them from all over the world like this.

Send out... none! LOL

PS, I recieved one the other day done in what I think was Apache Sunset... Who was that? I can not find where I placed the card and want to note the arrival in my log.

I just returned from a little vacation in Las Vegas yesterday and brought back four postcards; I'd love to send them in a single-exchange to four FPN members outside of California. This seems like lots of fun, but with the school year starting for me on Monday, I'd rather keep it simple and easy, and just post for recipients to exchange with if and when I happen to have a few cards handy, rather than add "shop for / or make postcards" to my list of Things To Do.

I hope it's not rude for me to say that I don't mean for it to be a continual postcard exchange. If any recipient wishes for correspondence beyond that, let me know on the return and I'll send you a snail - I already have paper for that. ;)

US swappers: I've noticed a handful of postcards have come to me with 23c. stamps. Not sure whether a kindly postal worker decided to forward them on even though they had incorrect postage, but I thought you guys would like a heads-up that cards are getting to Canada with domestic-rate stamps.

Wow, that's kind of amazing - and the US postcard rate is now 28 cents, too!

Let's be careful not to send "problems." I think most postal carriers wouldn't bother, but I have been asked to pay additional postage on under-funded mail before. Since most postcards don't have a return address, the recipient would get stuck with the bill.

Agreed -- I didn't mean to leave that impression. Rather that if you happen to make a mistake and include a domestic-rate postcard stamp, not to worry too much -- it (at least sometimes) will make it across the border.

The important thing is to sign with (or include) your FPN tag. I file by tags and sometimes have to flip through all the cards to find out who Fred is for example.

Good point that! I got a couple and wondered, Who IS that?!?

Then, wouldn't you know it, all the ones I sent out I used my real name...

Will have to remember that.

Can anyone please explain why postcards from the states have a sticker across the writing on the back, and sometimes across the front? No other mail service that I have ever encountered defaces your mail that way.

Hi, I have noticed that too, but the sticker easily peels off leaving no residue. I have seen a fluoroscent bar code on the sticker so I guess it aids the USPS in automatic sorting.

Card sent out today to spottedandspeckled and some carsd to the regular correspondents. Thank you all.

Best,

Hari

I have a friend in from out-of-town for a few days, so I'll be mailing out cards probably monday. We have been doing tourist things, so I have been picking up major tourist postcards.

If you're allergic to alligator postcards, tell me now! :P

(Or, if you want one, let me know that too.)

Much Love--Virginia
