I am very far behind in sending cards out and I am sorry for that.

Tonight or tomorrow I will sit and get a few done.

Probably start in just a few minutes.

Anyway ....

At the antique shop where I found the vintage cards

in this thread my daughter

made another discovery.

Approximately 1000 cards in a very nice wooden box.

Not sure if it will still be there this weekend when my husband goes up

or exactly what's in it other than the stacks I picked up looked

25% used vintage and 75% unused vintage.

They look to be from all over the world again, in user shape,

not collectible shape.

It's very reasonably priced and I was wondering if it'd be worth my while to

pick it up.

Rather, worth our while.

I already have enough cards to last quite a while with my last purchase so

this next purchase would be pretty much for the benefit of fellow post card

swappers.

I wouldn't be looking to make a profit on it, really, just be

looking to share the wealth without it costing me, if you know what I mean.

I'll have my husband pick them up if there's enough people

that think they'd be interested. I have to work this weekend. :(

PM me or email me and let me know what you all think, please.

(email is conlaz at hotmail.com)

If there's as many cards as I think there are they'd be about 5 cents a piece,

plus actual shipping charges.

Well, I would try to "lot" them by state, content, ect.. I would be interested in stuff from Connecticut or New England. Also anything antique tool related.

Oh, and I sent you a PC swap request~

Awesome, Thanks!!

Big mail day today, I recieved cards from Hennypenny, spotted & speckled, Von Buck, & jazztonight. All wonderfull cards and a self-photo from jazztonight! Thanks again everyone!

I recieved my 50 card lot from e-bay today and it was a so-so win... This was my most expensive one, ($13.00 shipped) and when I sorted them, there were only 15 cards un-used. :( Out of these, there were quite a few un-divided cards, and some black & whites. All in all, I paid under a dollar a card so I did not get hurt, but I do feel the seller should of noted this fact. Many cards did come in plastic sleeves which are great to sort "batches" in my desk drawer. I went thru the cards and found some cool readable ones and one from my home town here in CT which was cool. The oldest date was 1906 and many from 1910-1930.

I did win one more lot of 27 cards (6 used) for $8.99 shipped, but the cards look really nice!

Just send a PM to people that interest you. Express your interest in exchanging cards and include your address. If they are interested, they will respond, giving you their address.

I'll get things started and sent you a PM with my address.

Enjoy! Steve C.

Card received from Firefyter-Emt today.

Hey Firefyter-Emt, did you rub wax over the ink to protect it from moisture?

Yes I did, it was a white crayon to be honest. I saw how it protects the ink from getting wet and messed up so I have been doing all of them. That vintage Skrip is water thin and hardly waterproof!

Oh, and here is a cool story for today. I picked up a batch of cards at one of the local antique shops today. While sorting them I noticed some names that repeated. I went thru them again and found over a dozen mailed to the same family. What is really cool is that they appear to be mailed from all over the US and Europe in the early 1970's I figured that there might be a chance that the family still lived there in Windsor Locks, CT so I called the town hall and after a little sweet talking, I find that the wife was not only still alive and on the voting list, but she apparently lived at the same address. After the clerk was nice enough to pass on a phone number, I called and left a message. I left my cell number, but I have not received a call back as of yet. I now wait, and hope... These appear to be cards from her son and maybe one or two from her husband. I really do hope I can mail all of these back to her!!

Awesome news! I recieved a phone call from the daughter of the lady I was trying to located, this would be the sister of the person who mailed the cards (mostly) She was very nice and I am sending her back all of the cards tomorrow! I was a little worried that it might stir up bad memories thinking that these would of been mailed in during the Vietnam war era. I will include a letter from me when I send them back. Just think, these postcards were mailed 35 years ago and will reunite with the family. Cool, Eh?
