Postcard Swap

Sure Im up for it, I'll mail worldwide. This is a great idea, how do I get started?.

Don

Does anyone else, like me, enjoy receiving 'real' mail from all over the world? There are such a variety of members here that I thought it would be interesting to swap postcards of our town which have been written with a fountain pen. You could include details about the pen and ink you are using on the card, or just a general message about your hometown!

I'm happy to send postcards from Canterbury, United Kingdom to anyone who would like to receive one. Let me know in the forum below or send me a PM.

G'day send me your details and I'll get one on the way from here in the land downunder.

Best regards

Pete

I just picked up some 28 cent postcard stamps that will go into effect on Monday (5/11/09). Polar bear stamps -- yay! I didn't like those tropical fruit. This one looks more like the previous mountain lion (was it) stamp. Anyway, I like it. Here it is:

Just sent a 5 postcards badge. Dixon CA, Wisconsin, Whitfield, Australia

The voice of this guitar of mine, at the awakening of the morning, wants to sing its joy;

I sing to your volcanoes, to your meadows and flowers, that are like mementos of the greatest of my loves;

If I am to die away from you, may they say I am sleeping, and bring me back home.

Cards sent over the past few days to hari317, zerobuttons, Big Ern, liapuyat, orangesam, amh210, FredRyder, Suggie, and Cr0acker

Recently received a lovely card from sdcurnow

Fatehbajwa, I don't know how long the mail takes but I sent you one about a month ago.

Didn't know it was called deltiology-my first thought was Delta pens!

The new polar bears are certainly better than the fruit. I like the international ones (both current and new).

Thanks for the cards, everyone. I am slowly working my way through sending from the pile of vintage beauties I now have on hand.

Oh, those motel cards from the 1950 and 60s are so good. They just guarantee I will never stay there.

Tweel,

Is that a bedroom or a bomb shelter?

Doug, I share your enthusiasm for the polar bear stamp. A year of those fruity stamps is enough!

Well, a few more days of fruity stamps at least. Anybody want one attached to a postcard from the Dallas area?

Hey U.S. friends, how often does your Postal Service change the design of stamps? Canada Post puts out new stamps every few months or so.
