Well I finally found some postcards. Haven't been able to find any in my usual haunts so I sent a retired friend out to look while he was out and about and he brought me back about a dozen, all but two local scenes or California scenes that I am familiar with. So I will get some out to those I owe. Any one else that want's a card from the greater LA LA land area drop me a PM.

Just pick someone you'd like to send a post card to and private message them.

I just got back from Israel today. I didn't pick up any photo-postcards, but I did pick up some interesting marketing-type postcards which I will send to folks with whom I am a delinquent sender.

For those of you who say "Please let me join" it is really quite simple.

Just scan the list of folks who post in this thread and pick a couple or three interesting ones and send them a PM saying the equivalent of "wanna swap postcards? I'll send you my address if you send me yours."

Aside from a few well-intentioned lazy blokes :roflmho: nobody is going to say "NO WAY" so just go for it. You don't even need to announce your interest on the thread (though you are most assuredly welcome to do so).

Acknowledging receipt, posting scans, gushing thanks are all "extras."

So, send a postcard. Your postal service and mail carrier needs the business.

I received postcards from FredRydr, Clancy and Jared within the last couple of weeks. Guys, thanks very much for your postcards, and I hope you receive the ones I sent.

I went hunting in the local bookstore and found me a mix of vintage and new travel postcards... those who want pictures of sunny islands and historical Asian locations just send me a PM and I'll mail you guys soon.

I'll be trying to make postcards of my own photos soon. I've used sticker photo paper added to a nice blank cardstock.

I've been sending postcards out to quite a few of you lately, but just wanted to get my name out there again in case I missed somebody. A card store in the building where I work is going out of business and all their postcards (they only had a few non-cheesy varieties) are 75% off. I grabbed a bunch, and got some stamps the other day. So if anybody wants a postcard from Colorado, send me a PM.

Today I received the first two postcards! :bunny01: :bunny01:

Thanks to pmsalty and coldman.

Coldman, your card made me come the desire to visit the great North. :eureka:

Pmsalty, your handwriting is very nice, and you made me come the desire of buying an italic nib :puddle:

Ciao,

Roberto

For our American members: Postage increases go into effect 11 May 2009.

- Domestic postcards will be 28 cents.

- The rates for Canada: 75 cents; Mexico: 79 cents; the rest of the world: 98 cents. The three international rates are the same for postcards as for the first ounce of first class mail. (I wish we'd go to grams and be done with it!)

Ninety-eight cents for a postcard! Postcards used to have pre-printed on them "One cent, Two cents international."

Say goodbye to those ugly anatomically correct 27-cent tropical fruit stamps. But I guess we have to be careful what we wish for!

Andy,

I give up. What is that gold pen in photo on your recent post card? I tried reading the Hebrew, but I gave up when I realized I was holding the card upside-down.
