Postcard Swap

Received a vintage card from Fred yesterday (in perfect condition, courtesy of the USPS). A stylish view (for the era) of the dining room in the Sheraton-Biltmore in Rhode Island. A much more modern view of the Queen Mary went in the mail today as a reply.

I received a lot of cards today, and I just wanted to thank all of you who enjoy the exchange, the photos, the short notes and of course, the oddities as much as I do. This week I got the oddest of odd that I absolutely loved to get, a photo of a medieval artifact, but good manners and a desire to avoid being banned requires that I forgo a description. Touché, you mystery FPN member....

A very happy holiday season to all!

Fred

I have received a few nice cards this past week. Thank you all.

Also, just had some of my nature photos from northern Lake Michigan printed up and they can be sent as postcards.

PM me if you would like to swap for one.

I'd like to try this postcard swap thing- I'd like to offer hand-drawn postcards (using Noodler's bulletproof black & blue) in cardstock. You can look at my deviantart to get an idea of my style: eilu1183.deviantart.com

Or, if you prefer, I can give normal postcards from the Philippines.

Thank you Carrie for the marvellous postcard. Isle of Wight is a beautiful place according to the postcard. Enjoy your walking and exploring around there.

Thanks, I loved the postcard you sent too.

As a new year resolution I would like to start the postcard swapping thing. I like the idea to use my FP to correspond with fellow FPN. I live 15 km from Venice and 50Km from Dolomites, so I think I may have nice ones to send!

PM me if you want one.

Cheers,

Diplomat, Eilu, and others:

While we don't have any "rules," and I have no official status, I usually take on the task of pointing out the following:

The usual protocol is that you look through this thread and identify someone(s) with whom you would like to exchange cards. You PM that person and offer to PM your address. They PM you back with their address and you PM them back with your address.

That way you get to solicit postcards from whomever you choose based on whatever criteria you choose.

This sounds like loads of fun. Count me in. I could always use another excuse to deface a perfectly good white surface with my half cocked attempt to produce smething legible.

Hi, I'm from the Philippines and am interested in sending out travel postcards from our islands. Lovely beaches, old Spanish forts, that kind of thing. I'll send a pm to the moderator and ask to join soon.

Okay, now that I'm well-armed with postcards, I hope to get out at least one postcard a day.

Thank you very much Andy for your kind words. In fact, I must admit I knew the rules.

But the point is I was too lazy and too shy to take the initiative by myself: who to choose? why? will he/she still be interested? ...and other question were in my mind. Now, thanks to my post here and to the prompt acting of a few members, my first 4 postcard are already in the mail for US and UE destinations... we will see!

Meanwhile the ice is broken, and I feel ready to PM other participants! It's fun!

Cheers and best regards to all the postcard swap participants!
