They seem to have it in for you Fred...I got one of your cards in a plastic bag today, with an apology from the USPS! Thanks, anyway!

Yes, and not only going out. I received one from Flexicat with about a quarter of it torn away and the remaining three-quarters put into a USPS envelope.

Here is a photo of the Central Penn Pens group on a tour of the Elmerton Avenue main post office in Harrisburg. We wanted to visit the sorting facility, for some reason they barred our entry.

Fred

Outstanding!!! :roflmho:

Best Regards,

Ray

I'm in Long Beach, CA for the rest of the week on business, so if you would like a card from this "scenic wonderland", just send me a PM.

This sounds like a great idea!

I have some postcards from Italy to send if anyone would like one. A lot of Byzantine mosaics from Ravenna and also cards from Rome, Florence, and Venice.

I've sent out a handful of postcards, and what I'm discovering is that postcards are the Twitter of handwritten correspondence.

I find that I run out of space long before I run out of what I'm writing. Heh.

Thanks, Ethernautrix, for the unique card! (Is it your creation?) And beautiful handwriting!

You're welcome, Penburg, and thank YOU! The card is mine, yes. I decided that I'm going to use my own images for this Great Postcard Swap.

I'm printing my photos on double-sided matte heavy paper (61#), four cards to a page, then cutting them with a paper cutter. It's very satisfying for me.

Received an nice card from Fred of a place not to far from home, and yet a place I have never visited. Will have to do something about that. After a pause I am getting back on the ball and will be sending soon.

Fred has got his pen inked and some fascinating postcards. I am lucky enough to have received two. The one that just arrived had the original postmark quite clearly stamped: August 18, 1912. The new stamp you added was not cancelled. I love old postcards.

Expect something from me within a day or two.

Thank you so very much, Fred.

Wow, I received some beautiful cards from Doulton! Many thanks for the mosaics! I just had to scan and put this card up... I received a [nearly] 100-year-old postard, "A Glad New Year", signed by a Miss Garber in Jan 1, 1909, via Doulton. It's beautiful... and only took 100 years to get here! :clap1:

Penburg and Doulton, that one is in excellent condition. Very cool!

Alas, as I was pouring over more cards at "my source" today, I've now had to eliminate from my selections attractive old cards that I fear have little chance of surviving a trip through the postal sorting machines.

By the way, I buy my old cards from an 88-year old woman who visits her antiques stall occasionally to rearrange them and add more cards. She must have been in this field for decades, because intermingled are special issue souvenir postcards from postcard collector shows. Believe it or not, some cards boast of "Postcard Week" in May.

A belated thank you to Suggie, FieryPhoenix, Alexandrino, penpimperLV & aavzqz for recently received cards. Very nice, one & all (one even came in an envelope to preserve it).

Fred,

Thanks so much for the two recent cards they both were delivered intact by the USPS! Amazing. The Monticello postcard is similar to the ones I sent out when I visited it back in 1970!

Actually, PMS, I came across one of yours from back then at the antique store, but the stamp was cancelled so I didn't buy it.

Glad you enjoy them! I enjoy finding and sending them.

For what I think is my 100th FPN post, I'd like to throw my hat into the postcard ring. I promise rather usual postcards, including some homemade ones. Be forewarned!

I apologise for having "disappeared" for a while.

I'm in Hong Kong at the moment, working as a summer clerk amidst some VERY tempting stores in Central. I really should bring just enough money for lunch and nothing more when I go to work.

I will send out cards to those who are on my list over the next few days. If anyone else would like a postcard from Hong Kong, send me a PM. :)

I miss finding postcards in the mail box, :crybaby: and it's Christmas time...but I think I won't confuse you all with another address.

Just printed up some new "postcards" from my photos.

If you would like to receive a card in return for sending me a card, PM me with your mailing address.

I'll try to get these out on Friday or Saturday.
