Some of you know that I teach at the local Community College and have the summer off, so I have been sort of busy doing... well, very little actually while on my summer vacation. Worked on lots of little odd jobs around the house and yard, but I have not been doing a lot of surfing in the area, so no postcards.

But good news! I have family members strewn across various areas of Canada, so we had a sort of family reunion on Prince Edward Island this summer and I picked up some cards and notecards while I was there.

Any of you I have written before (and still have an address for) were sent a card in the past week or so (I forget, the date is on them!). Some may have already received something. If not, hopefully soon!

Since the summer vacation is winding down and I start teaching in a few weeks, I will be a little more diligent about logging into FPN and seeing how the rest of the world is doing.

To everyone that is going to be receiving a postcard from me,

So after looking at a few postcards available and keeping in my thoughts what I wanted to convey about the california coast, I have decided to make my own postcards to send out. I have one finished and will try to make them all in the next few days. I should have them completed by the weekend's end. I will PM each person as I finish and send them out. I hope that everyone likes them, I have never made postcards before and had a huge amount of fun this evening doing it. Now lets hope I can fill out the postcards with my pen properly and not mess up...

Have a great evening to all! :happyberet:

Just received one of Fred's "vintage" postcards in the mail yesterday. What a great idea! And, being nosy, reading the original message was kind of interesting too! :-)

Welcome back, Fred and many thanks for the terrific postcards.

I've never been to Nova Scotia, but lived in Maine for one wonderful month and visited often.

A goodie coming your way soon.

Deirdre,

May you receive five times as many postcards as you have fountain pens! ;)

Meanwhile, we look forward to your cards.

Hey Fred, I didn't get a post card from your trip to Nova Scotia! Wait a sec... I live in Nova Scotia... nevermind.

I'm interested, please PM me for my address.

I have some "modern" cards from New Zealand and Australia, as well as "vintage" ones from Europe. However, most of them haven't been written on nor posted before, and for the ones that have, I don't think I can find enough space to fit it another address. Please tell me if you have a preference, eg. scenery vs. sites/buildings, people vs. animals &c.

I've just had a look on our postal service's website, the only way to send a postcard is by air, International Economy is for letters only... Air mail spoils the joy one gets in discovering a letter/postcard in the mail box after a long wait.
