Boy, I R Dumb. I complained earlier about the 27-cent watermelon stamp. A friend saw one of my postcards and I told her I didn't like the watermelon stamp. "Doug," she says, "it's a GUAVA." For some reason, now that I know it's a guava, I like it better.

I still don't like the pomegranate. Or whatever it is...

I received a card from Doug today, what a nice surprise!

The card featured a print of a watercolor painting of a rocky shoreline - very appropriate as I was heading off to my watercolor painting class when I collected my mail!

Thanks Doug! :)

I like the star fruit stamp! We have a great series out at the moment featuring hot air balloons, alas, none are international.

Received second card from Fred, thanks! Roger, the card with the map and pictures of Costa Blanca make me want to pack up and go there right now! Beautiful. Aaron, the picture of the Colorado Mountains reminded me of when I used to spend time in Colorado at my Dad's cabin at Cuchara in Southeastern Colorado. Love this post card thang! Lashelle

Public thank you's to Doug (great card, and if you haven't already, I would urge you to post a scan of your modified Manuscript Brown in the ink review section. I really like it, and I would love to try and duplicate it for myself) and to Fred (hilarious card -- Lawrence Welk's Country Club Village in 1974 -- that had me standing by my mailbox trying to figure it out, and then cracking up when it clicked). :roflmho:

My wife picked me up some more post cards yesterday from the Denver Aquarium, and I got some really great pastel/watercolor postcards of scenes from downtown Denver for 30 cents from my local book store this morning. I can't wait to use these!

Cards arrived today from 'finalidid' in New Orleans and Petra in Cleveland Heights, OH.

Cliff's card is a picture of the Napoleon House, a bar and cafe, once intended as a refuge for Napoleon in New Orleans.

Petra sends a picture postcard of the Kapali Carsi Grand Bazarar in Istanbul, Turkey where she visits family every year.

Petra, I love the P.R. Spearmint!

Thanks Cliff and Petra!

Lawrence Welk's Country Club Village in 1974 -- that had me standing by my mailbox trying to figure it out, and then cracking up when it clicked).

I had the same reaction when I ran across it. But then that problem... Who to send it to? Who to send it to? :)

Fred

P.S. There's a guy/gal on eBay selling 500 old postcards in one lot.

P.P.S. Nuts! I dropped a card in the U.S. post addressed to Australia, but with a domestic stamp on it. I wonder, what'll they do?
