Rince,

You are getting another because you mentioned you are in Litchfield. I was at university up your way in '75-'76. More on the card.

The stamps have to have a denomination printed on them. No forever stamps, I guess. And they do have 69 and 90 cent stamps, but any combination adding up to the rate is fine.

Pease add ash13brook from the Chicago, Illinois, USA area to the list.

Picture postcards of Chicago or just plain if you like. None will have the "forever stamp" on them

thanks,

From the official USPS web site:

Can the Forever Stamp be used for International Mail?

Any nondenominated stamps (except for those that bear unique markings, such as First-Class Presort, Nonprofit Org.) may be affixed to items that are sent to foreign countries. The postage value of such stamps is linked to its appropriate domestic rate (e.g., the Lady Liberty and U.S. Flag stamp has a postage value of 39 cents). The postage value of the Forever Stamp will be the domestic First-Class Mail single-piece 1-ounce letter rate that is in effect on the day of use. Since international postage rates are always higher than the comparable domestic rates, additional postage would have to be affixed.

So, according to the USPS web site, the forever stamp CAN be used for international mail, as long as you use enough of them.

...the forever stamp CAN be used...

I'm using up all sorts of old stamps, some of you may notice. My recent favorites are the 32-cent triangular stamps and the 37-cent Lewis & Clark stamps, both retro designs. I wish the post office would always keep some retro stamps in circulation.

I found more vintage cards. Look out.

Eeek! I need to stop stowing postcards in the sunvisor of my truck. It's far too easy to forget they're there!!

I have found and mailed cards to Fred and Katie...and a few surprises to old friends. Sorry for the delay!

Received 2 cards yesterday. one from rogerb (now that I 've seen the card, I'll need to visit Costa Blanca someday) and one from Rincewind. Rincewind took the ime to indulge my other interest, railroads, and sent ne a great card with an equally appropriate stamp. Thanks for going out of your way to send me those!

Received two great cards today from sdcurnow (Old Sacramento, very historic!) and frederick (Hasselt in Belgium, bottles of Genever, a grain brandy, sometimes aromatized with juniper berries - sounds good!). Thanks, guys!

Over on the snail letter side, I have a few letters to write and send out, watch that space :D

Go through the list and send a PM to other members to propose a card swap and provide your postal address. I suggest against posting an address in this public forum.

You are about to get an axample. :)

My husband took some nice photos today at a local car show. I'm making some of them into post cards. If anyone would like a photo-card of a vintage car, just send me a PM.
