Hello to All! I would love to receive postcards from anywhere except Iowa. Please PM if you would like to receive one from me. I like landscapes, nature, historical buildings, etc. Honestly, I would be happy to just get something in the mail besides a bill. Hope to hear from you soon!

Greetings to all!

I'd be happy to swap postcards from anywhere in the world. I have a big pile of postcards on loads of different topics from movies to poetry, as well as local tourist cards.

In the USA I'd be particularly keen to receive a card from Providence, Rhode Island (home of author H.P. Lovecraft!) and Cross Plains, Texas (home of author Robert E. Howard!).

Anywhere in Europe would be great, especially Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, including Russia.

Feel free to PM me if you want to exchange addresses!

Cheers,

- Stuart

I would like to join in the postcard swap. Anyone who wants postcards from the San Antonio, Texas area PM me. I would love to receive one from just about anywhere. I am also traveling back and forth to my my hometown in northwest Texas. A little place called Muleshoe and will pick up some postcards from there as well. Lashelle

THANK YOU! I got cards today from Judybug, Celeste, King Joe and Rosmarin. What a nice surprise to find those in my mailbox!

Rosamarin, your writing is beautiful! My boys (8 & 14) were quite impressed.

My wife and I would love to join in. We're in central Michigan (USA) and would enjoy PCs from anywhere.

One question ... How does one keep the ink on the cards from being ruined by the Post Office?

If you use one of the many varieties of waterproof or bulletproof ink, there is little the PO can do to ruin your card that is relevant to ink. They can still chew it up in little pieces, but your ink will still be there.

The best way to get involved in the post card exchange is to pick some folks who post in the thread, send them a PM with an offer to exchange. Most of the time they will say yes, send you their address by PM, and you send you address in return.

Personally, I use any ink, even non-waterproof ones, on the message part of the postcard. However, I always use a waterproof ink on the address. Another solution is to rub a plain wax candle over the inked writing. That should protect the message and address well enough from any dampness.

I'm originally from Michigan. I would LOVE a postcard from "home." I'll send you a PM with details.

As Andy said, a plain white candle works very well to protect the ink. In a pinch, a small piece of clear packing tape over the address will work, too. The candle (or waterproof inks) are much tidier long-term solutions, though.
