This sounds like fun, count me in. I'd love to send or receive from anywhere in the world. I'm in Ohio

It's a great idea but comes up against the good-old British brick wall. COST! For those that don't know, and why should you, the cost of a stamp for a post card to 'rest of the world' (that's everywhere outside Europe) is about $1.25. See what I mean? We're just being priced out some forms of writing altogether.

Wow! I never would of thought of something like this! What a great idea! If anyone wants a postcard from Nashville, Tennessee, PM me. I will accept cards from anywhere in the world. The poster above me is right though, for someone without a job (me :glare: ), 1.25 per card can get expensive.

It's 98 cents here - which is bad enough. $1.25 is a bit steep. What I really think is unfair is the fact that sending a post card overseas is no cheaper than sending a letter in an envelope overseas.

Also, when this thread was started, it was probably no where near $1.25 per card.

What's with the members who ask for postcards and are given an address by PM, but don't reply?

Sure did. You were the only one who replied out of five who recently invited contact for exchange of post cards.

A card is on its way! More to follow.

I have a new post office box. For those of you who have sent me post cards in the past, the old Plaquemine, LA post office box is no longer valid. Here's my new address:

Judy Landry

P. O. Box 836

Addis, LA 70710

I'd love to find a post card or two in this box when I pass through the village of Addis. :) PM me with your address and I'll send a card out to you. I'd like to get in a little bit of post card swapping before I have my second knee surgery at the end of this month. (Thank goodness I'm not a centipede!)

Just sent one to the old address. Will it find its way to you?

Apologies to my postcard pals in the USA. I sent many cards this week using 28-cent polar bear stamps, unaware that domestic postage had increased one cent on 18 April 2011. :gaah:

I hope the heartless and brainless mail sorting machinery allow those cards to get through to you nonetheless. If your friendly neighborhood postman asks for a penny postage due, please forgive me.

I should have been using these.

I owe two of you postcards long outstanding (Fred and Doug)... sorry. guess i'm out for the present. felt i needed to write this as i'm venturing a few posts in the fora. i have your postcards in front of me now. I like the alphabet seal Doug, incredibly articulated, and also think it's the first sample of Noodlers Ottoman Azure I've seen, a good blue-black by the looks of it. Fred, your vintage card is awesome, and unidentified brown ink (perhaps Galileo?) took some water damage in transit which increases the effect! -Andrew

I'm happy to send postcards anywhere, from tropical Far North Queensland, Australia. I will, however, apologise in advance for my handwriting.

Please PM me an address if anyone is interested. :vbg:

I get my vintage stamps on eBay, or from an individual seller I've blogged about a couple of times.
