Sara and Frederic, got your post cards today! We have had severe wild fires here in Southern California. I could see three of them from my place. It's just about over now. Sara, your post card could have been a photo one of the out buildings here in the California desert. and Frederic the church is beautiful. I love old buildings, especially churches!

I´ve just received three postcards today: one from Laura, one from Shelley and the third one I cannot figure out the signature. It is a postcard of the "Statue of Liberty" with the American flag in the background. Let me know so I can send you a postcard to you. Thank you all

I received Frederic's postcard today! :) Encre Blue ink with lavender scent. I love lavender. Thanks!

Be forewarned, in the interest of getting cards out quickly, I sent boring, non-representative ones; I didn't realize we were supposed to be sending location-specific cards. I will send proper NYC cards to all of my current and future exchange partners. Sorry about that.

Easiest way to do it is to pick someone from the thread who posted that they were interested in swapping postcards. Send them a pm offering the swap and then PRIVATELY exchange mailing addresses. (It probably isn't a good idea to post your physical mailing address or email address in a public forum.)

  • 2 weeks later...

What a wonderful surprise today in the mailbox, 3 postcards!

Helene, Judybug and Frederic!

I can't believe the one from Belgium came in only 5 days. Now that's quick considering how many miles it had to travel.

I also have discovered that finding postcards that are not cheesy looking is not as easy as I thought it would be, used to every place you went into had them. Much to my surprise there are not that many places that carry good ones. But I have found some that are good and representative so they will be on their way tomorrow!

Thanks!

I would be happy to send a postcard from southwest Virginia, USA ... Blacksburg, VA, to be specific... home of the Virginia Tech Hokies.

Send me a PM and let me know if you want a town/university-type card or mountain/scenic-type card. And I'll choose what pen and ink I use.

Would love to receive postcards from anywhere.

I would love to be part of this swap. I am in Vermont in the U.S.A. for those that haven't heard of it. I'd love post cards from anywhere. I haven't traveled much so everywhere is new to me.

I've been delinquent in writing, but while I was on vacation I received lovely postcards from both Clancy & Superbus.

Thanks!

I'd love to participate in the postcard swap. Where do I post my addy?

deb

Most of us are cautious about posting our address in a public forum. The best approach seems to be pick someone from the thread who has expressed interest in swapping postcards, send them a PM and offer to swap cards. If you both agree, you can exchange addresses privately.

I've done it lots! Mucho fun.

Laura, I have to say, your handwriting is absolutely gorgeous. And I thought I wrote small!!

Not to mention precise -- I think I'd need guidelines and some time!

-- Brian

LOL, Tweel, I got your postcard just the other day, and I was thinking how neat and precise your handwriting was. :) It was a beautiful card, BTW; those trees are simply gorgeous!

Got a postcard today from Mary (aka Thorn01).

Thanks Mary...I love the legend of "spook hill". Those local legend "mystery spots" are great. I'll try and find one from "confusion hill", just north of me.

Cheers,

C.

Received a postcard from Judybug, thanks! Beautiful handwriting, wow.

My wife looked at your script, and looked at me (knowing well my handwriting) and said, "Maybe I better write your postcards for you!"

(She does very nice calligraphy, btw.)
