Postcard Swap

And all of them had the same stamp :-)

Here in the USA, there is only one single-denomination stamp for international letters or postcards. So unless we use multiple stamps of multiple values (which I sometimes do), there's one 98-cent option available... e basta. (That's it.)

I just finished answering the cards I've received recently. Answers are going out to Jazztonight, Penspouse and Bearcat.

I'm also mailing introductory cards to AlaskanWriter, Waisun, pyotrkot, misterh, mooshisho, Pauldavid, & tr3n1ty.

Enjoy! Steve C

3 cards went out yesterday to jazztonight. I’m not trying to fill up your mailbox, jazztonight, but experimenting with paper(s), getting ink to stick. I didn’t think you’d mind. You have a trashcan for the extras, I’m sure.

Merely 150% humidity on my end or so it seems; even the paper was trying to feather. You‘re a good distance from me so if all 3 arrive readable, I’ll grab myself one of those Postcard Exchange Icons.

I should have checked my mailbox earlier. Perfect mail day. No bills, no junky mail, just a gorgeous postcard from jazztonight. So beautiful!

I received 4 cards in the last couple of days. I've been getting ready for a fiber retreat so I haven't had a chance to read them and I don't have them with me right now so I can't acknowledge who they're from :(. I will try to reply over the weekend between spinning bobbins of yarn or knitting/crocheting.

Yesterday I received two great cards.

Inkypete sent me a great Christmas card, a reproduction of a Parker ad. We are just turning to autumn so it was great to get a reminder to get my Christmas presents in order.

Steve sent me a Houston skyline in the night.

Thanks, reply cards soon to be sent.

Hoping you have a Happy Mail Day!

Hanna

Wanted to thank you, I'm always surprised by the uniqueness of the cards received. Return cards went out to Jazztonight, Mr. Anonymous, CraigR, Hannaalh, Denise C (Arizona), "Doc", InkyPete, and JLeeper (not necessarily in that order...smile).

For those into the "hunt" -- it's surprising the cards that can be found at an antique shop. I've found that the cards will be marked-up to crazy prices but if you walk over with a handful and ask "OK, I want to buy these and what's your **best** price?", I find that you can pick 'em up for significantly less. Like any proprietor, merchandise does no good sitting in a box, collecting dust.

I've mentioned it on a couple cards I've sent. It's somewhat fun to send out a postcard that has possibly sat in someone's desk or closet for 40 or more years. Sort of the equivalent of a baseball not being a baseball until it's thrown.

My best to all,

Paul

I just bought over 1,000 cards at an antique fair. The vast majority are fine art cards (paintings, not places). The dealer wanted $1 apiece, but I made a much better deal, but only if I would buy ALL of them.

Here's the thing... I don't NEED 1,000 cards. If any of you need cards, PM me and we can make a really good deal. 10, 25, 100, 500, whatever.

Edit: Just finished using some fo the cards, sending replies to recently received cards from:

Asianbran

Spotted & Speckled

Tr3n1ty

Rolard

InkyPete

Enjoy!

I received today a my very first postcard from Melbourne Australia signed by Inky Pete. Thank you. He will receive my answer, not very soon, because the Mexican postal service is not too fast.

Send a PM to anyone who has posted in this forum asking if they would like to exchange addresses. That is it. You might also want to add some information about yourself in your profile when you get the chance. Welcome to FPN.

Got my first card from Inkypete. Thanks Pete! Now, if you could resend your details, I'll get a card out to you too. Keep 'em coming gang, PM me if you want to exchange postcards with me. I'm based in Malaysia by the way. :)

I am happy to participate. I live in London, Canada. Send me a PM of your address and I will happily send something to you - and hope that you will return the favour. If you collect stamps, let me know whether there are particular types that you like and I will try and oblige.
