3 weeks now, damn Mexican post

The voice of this guitar of mine, at the awakening of the morning, wants to sing its joy;

I sing to your volcanoes, to your meadows and flowers, that are like mementos of the greatest of my loves;

If I am to die away from you, may they say I am sleeping, and bring me back home.

16 days, not 3 weeks, feel like many will get their cards this week

Card received from penhorse87. Nice card Ken, thanks. Is the card one of your own? Looks good. What are the flowers? The seal came through the sorting equipment OK and gives a very professional feel to the whole thing.

D.

While it is a homemade card, the image is not my own. My father was an avid photographer. He took that picture back in the mid 40's. I inherited his old slides and photos when he passed away. Have been scanning them in to try to retain them when the original media deteriorates. Glad you enjoyed.

Ditto on the cactus flower picture!

Really sorry about that loss. Well, not too sorry, but we here in Hokie Nation realize we did not deserve that win!! (But we'll take it anyway.) I was on College Avenue the night before the game and the Huskers were wonderful people & fine fans. Come again, or maybe we go there next year.

I think I've found the solution to the problem with feathering on the back of the Red River Postcard paper, and I think it would work for most any postcard back that is not coated (much) and feathers badly.

And the answer is Krylon Matte Finish Spray. I sprayed it on the back of the postcards after printing the 'postcard format' on the back, and the picture on the front. The Matte spray takes a bit of time to dry, and then it takes a bit longer for the FP ink to dry and it's easy to smear the FP ink while it the ink drys, but the ink doesn't feather at all. I think this is going to make me happy with my self printed cards.

A bunch of cards out today & yesterday.

And just something for you to think about. I started sending postcards to my nieces/nephews. I am told they love getting mail and have been writing me back. Postcards, just a few lines. Another way to get kids to love writing? Take that step!!

Much Love--Virginia

I have received some lovely cards lately.

Thanks to:

Robert for his photo of Julia Child's kitchen.

Deborah for her card from Oriole park.

Paul for his card of the Rockefeller centre.

Tripp for the awesome Biltmore estate that looks like something from England.

FredRydr for another of his awesome vintage cards.

And all of them had the same stamp :-)

A lot of cards have been sent out this week, hopefully they will reach their destinations soon.
