Wow. :yikes:

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Yeah, it's kinda absurd.  Though I did slow down a little this year (basically 75 reviews this year, if I stick to the schedule), and I plan to slow down again no later than January of next year (by then, I will switch to one review per week).

Love the microscope detail feature… I don’t really care about line width, but this clearly shows how sharp the line edges are, and that is quite useful.

As far as the ink goes… I like the colour, but that eternal dry time is just too much.

I didn't consider that.  But don't you think the paper and the nib play a part in that, too?  It's pretty common to see rough edges that seem to correspond to the paper texture (albeit Rhodia dot pads are so smooth it's hard to perceive texture without magnification).  Albums 7 and 8 have lots of these all together, should you wish to peruse them without having to go through each review.

Note that @A Smug Dill got much more reasonable dry times.  It does make me wonder what's up with my environment / paper that I get such different results.  My Rhodia was purchased many years ago (at least 3, probably more), and people have said Rhodia is different now.  I also live in a very arid environment, so I assume the paper's about as dry as it's ever going to be.  Perhaps my review pen has gotten wetter after all the use it's gotten...  I just don't know.

For you:

WOW! Thank you @A Smug Dillfor this comparison! 👍

Indeed, the Colorverse Bluish-Green ist somewhere in the middle and, maybe for that reason, among the most interesting.

Definitely worth a try.

One life!

For anyone who cares, while I was getting some black inks to test for my aunt, I also picked up those samples which Goulet carry which people have requested I review (assuming I documented the request on my list), and a few more which were on sale and looked at least a little interesting.  I've already added them to my poll, even though they won't likely arrive for a week or more since they don't seem likely to get voted to the top before they arrive.  Here are the new ones:

  1. De Atramentis Archive Ink
  2. De Atramentis Document Ink Dark Blue
  3. De Atramentis Jane Austen
  4. Diamine Jet Black
  5. Diamine Meadow
  6. Diamine Moon Dust
  7. Diamine Oxford Blue
  8. Diamine Silver Fox
  9. Diamine Writer's Blood
  10. Diplomat Burgundy
  11. Diplomat Caramel
  12. Diplomat Caribbean
  13. Diplomat Orchid
  14. Diplomat Pine Tree
  15. Diplomat Purple
  16. Herbin Perle Noire
  17. Kaweco Pearl Black
  18. Noodler's Black
  19. Noodler's Rome Burning
  20. Noodler's X-Feather Black
  21. Noodler's X-Feather Blue
  22. Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black
  23. Platinum Pigmented Blue
  24. Sailor Kiwaguro Pigmented Black

I also added a Rhodia #16 dot pad, to see for myself whether they're really so much worse than in years past, as folks have reported.  Also, not that anyone will likely care, but barring some unusual event, this probably means that I won't be buying more ink samples until spring 2023, since I now have enough to last that long.

They have arrived! :D  Plus lollipop...

Nice swag!  I haven't bought a Rhodia pad in years; got too enthusiastic about ALL pads a while back.  So mine could be termed 'vintage.'

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

Makhabesh was reassured, when she saw Liz had received her new batch of inks That meant his bromance with Quin  could continue for a long time..... :D but he was disappointed that there were no Polar Black/ Brown etc in the menu. It was his dream to visit Antartica before it melted....

Thanks!  I haven't bought Rhodia since at least 2018 (had enough to last).  What are "ALL pads"?  Where do we find these?  Paper-addicted minds want to know! ;)  (That phrase does not yield useful search results... :lticaptd: )

  Noodler's Polar Black and Brown added to my "request list".  I will get them next time I buy samples - which may well be next year...  Frozen adventure idea planted in the back of my brain for germination.

Tomoe River, Kokuyo, some Unknowns from Amazon, Clairefontaine, MiquelRius, other Names I Forgot, multiple vintage oddments from an Etsy shop.  'Pads' also encompassing the term 'notebooks.'

I can send you brown and green if you want. I have them both. I've tried black and blue.

Black and Green are similar in consistency.

Brown stains if left for long with a pinkish die. Green also, greenish. But it cleans away with Doyou.

Blue is very different, but  but cleaning is easy. Blue is a flat muted, fast drying ink. Sailor with love it for that.

Oh, you just meant you got such a wide variety of paper that you don't need to buy more Rhodia.  I thought maybe ALL was a brand... :D  I understand now.

:D Well, let's put it this way, if you want me to get to them in less than a year, PM me and I'll gladly accept your offer - thank you!  Otherwise, we'll wait a year or so for me to get around to them next time I get samples. :)  And thank you for the warning - I'll use a cartridge for the Brown, and hope it doesn't stain the section.

A bit of Doyou works, if used for long periods of times.

Sure, we can wait for a bit longer.... I'll PM you when the whether is a bit clement over here. Not for the inks, they're Polar but for me!

:) Right, I'll switch to the Penmanship body when reviewing the ink - since I wouldn't want to keep Doyou in the review pen for "long periods of time".

Sounds great.  Wishing you good weather soon.  🌞  (Montreal in January is the coldest I've ever been - and I lived in Moscow, Russia for 3 years.)  It's been a strange winter for my area, and not in a good way - we're basically going to have no water this year.  My lawn is going to turn to pure weeds (I doubt they'll let us water, and the grass won't survive without it). :(
