Inks on my desk (now cupboard)

All my inks bottles are on/by my desk since I mess/experiment with them almost everyday when I have time.

(I have a huge desk.)

But, they are all in clear, seal tight container because I have a cat.

Though, he has been really good with my inks except one time when I was eye-dropping something and left the eyedropper in the bottle. He played with the eyedropper and knocked down the whole bottle...

As for all the sample vials are all organized and stored away under my desk in containers.

These are what visible immediately.

How many (and which) inks do you have at your desk ready to go into your favourite fountain pen?

In bottles:

Diamine Sherwood Green

Diamine Majestic Blue

Waterman Absolute Brown

Waterman Serenity Blue

Fritz Schimpf sirimiri

Fritz Schimpf gelassenheit

Aurora Black

In sample vials:

Whatever I have grabbed from the sample drawer with my eyes closed (literally).

I'm going to guess that this is between 1/4 and 1/3 of my bottles. Now I'm wondering if I have too much out on the desk and maybe I should put some or all of them in the cupboard.

Looks like a clean and minimalistic setup to me 👍

P.S. I really dig the /DEV/MUG 🤣

I keep them in drawers under the table. This serves two purposes: it keeps them out of sunlight and also allows me pretend like my wife might not actually know how much ink I have.

That would not work for me.  My husband has a pretty good idea of how many different inks I have at this point.  Partly because I'm pretty bad about storage, and partly because I do discuss what pens/inks I'm ordering to some extent (mostly he just kinda rolls his eyes at this point and makes noises about how much I spend, but I'm not hiding it from him).  And partly because when I'm testing them out, I use cheap spiral bound sketch pads, and I'm now roughly half-way through the fourth one (using one sheet, front and back, per ink).

Hoping that this spring I actually get the antique dental cabinet I bought restored enough so that not only the pens can get stored in them, but also the sample vial trays (in the bottom three drawers that are deeper -- I think they may be wide enough to do at least two trays per, and *possibly* deep enough to double-stack them).  Besides corralling the vials better, it will also free up one of the raffia covered cloth boxes I got at Ikea to store the bottled inks in....

With every twist and turn there is a change to learn something new and interesting. So it’s fine wherever it goes.

As far as bottles are concerned I currently have only two on my desk: a cheap one (M&M Königsblau) and a small one (10ml Herbin Diabolo Menthe).

The rest is in the bottom drawer of the desk - most of them in their original packaging to provide a little bit of additional protection. This drawer is getting kinda full tho... 😬

I was very careful and intentional with my wording. I am not hiding (actually all my many pens are out in racks and cups on my desk). If there's any deception it is self-deception! :) (See below.)

Not so sneaky - she probably actually knows how much ink I have - I just like to think she might not. It's more my own guilt about having so much ink and wondering what she thinks about it. 😄 She's actually really good about it, though if I receive a package, she will always say, "Another pen?" To which I just smile and say nothing.

Also a very minimalist approach (for the desk that is). 👍

For the rest of my desk 'messy' would be a far better description.
