Experiences with Conway Stewart (Bespoke British Pens) lever fill pens?

Hi fellow FPNers

I'm considering ordering a custom-made Conway Stewart Marlborough lever fill pen from Bespoke British Pens (BBP).

I've read horror stories of terrible customer service, leaking sacs and snapping/faulty levers in Conway Stewarts from before BBP took over.

Could you please share your experiences with BBP-made Conway Stewart lever fill fountain pens?

Have you had any issues and how were they resolved?

The pen I'm thinking of ordering is not part of their usual line-up...is it advisable to ask them to make a pen with a filling system that's not usually in their production line?

Your feedback would be much appreciated! Many thanks!

Best,

John

I am sorry to say I can’t help you about the lever fillers, but I can tell you about the new Conway Stewarts! I have a Duro, which is a cartridge/converter, but it is made fantastically. I have have a superb experience with BBP and their customer service. Great people over there. Michael Jecks (writerly write rings on YouTube) did a review about the Indiana Jones Model 58 which was a lever filler and he was very happy with it. I’m sure if you got one it would come with one of the new silicone sacs so it wouldn’t ever need replacing. Also you can absolutely ask them to custom make you a pen, it seems to be one of the things they take pride in doing. I highly, highly recommend BBP and the new Conway Stewarts!

Hi William,

Thanks for sharing your experience...I really appreciate it.

I've heard very good things about BBP! I'm pretty sure I'll order the pen now! 😁
