Majohn A1 Ink Cartridge Coverter Box Sets

First comes the ink cartridges and hopefully they start releasing nib units before the Chinese New Year. I will attempt to swing for the fences and get them off Taobao but the current restrictions on liquids do not look promising. The markup on these is going to be interesting considering what independent sellers are trying to charge for the A1 currently on Etsy, Ebay, and Aliexpress. These work in the VP FYI.

3 sets of 6 filled catridges in box: $3.90

5 empty catridges/pipette with covers in box: $1.55

6 filled catridges in box:$1.55

Pipette,  catridge, and converter:$1.55

That cartridge set looks great. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for letting us know 🙂🌷

At least option B and C should not fall under shipping restrictions, should they?

If the plugs work well, these could be very interesting for many Pilot FP users, not just for A1/Capless.

One could easily pre-fill them to have cartridges with inks of your own choosing.

Maybe they could even be used for sending small ink samples.

The possibilities along with Pilot products are endless since they fit.

The issue is I ordered them all x10 along with pens so I am trying to slip the ones with ink through lol

If they reject those they will most likely return the entire order.

I am highly anticipating what they have in store with the nib units despite knowing a Broad in their domestic market doesn't make sense unfortunately.

Interestingly the Asvine V169 is now available with M nibs.  Perhaps Moonman will follow that trend

Add lightness and simplicate.

Any idea how much ink each the cartridges and the converters hold? I currently have one at customs (the pen). I'm hoping to use it at work because I use fountain pens exclusively but i'm having a hard time with my pens (the ones with threads) at my job because I wear gloves and metal dust bits get in them. Ive been using my Al-Star but capping and uncapping a pen every minute gets old when you do it ALL DAY. Ive been wanting a vanishing point for the click feature but I couldn't spend 160 bucks on essentially what amounts to an experiment for me. I'm not even sure if I will like the shape or style of the pen so I bought the A1 to give er a run and if I enjoy it I probably will buy the VP eventually. I'm curious how much each of those holds so I know when it does clear customs and I get it I wont run out of ink mid-shift.

One of the ink forums, probably Inky Thoughts, will have a thread that lists cartridges and converters and their volumes.

Eyeballing it I'd say the converter is the same as the Pilot Con-50.  So .5ml. Guessing that the larger refillable cartridge would be at least .7ml.  With the F nib the converter should get you thru a day.

Drat, I haven't used Taobao, but I hope to see these soon.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

These are available on Ebay now. $7.99

$6 markup but the shipping to get even the empty sets is out of wack on Taobao so this is the best option for now.

They are selling two sets as of now:  Coverter, cartridge,  pipette or 5 pack and a pipette.

These can be used in the OG VP.

Thanks for the info 🙂

Depending on whether or not there are additional costs for taxes etc, I tend to find that price kinda acceptable.

(I still won't buy them right away tho, as in the meantime I found a tinker solution for the plugs which I'm currently testing. It's probably not as good as Moonman's/Majohn's, but maybe good enough for me 😉)

I agree. The disc inside the Pilot cartridges only needs to be pushed aside with the pipette to fill the same way. Not as easy or a long as the Majohn but if stone has a bunch of old catridges and just wants to start refilling and sealing it can be done.  Just a bit of patience but Majohn removed the meeting for it which is good for all versions

Pushing the disc back into horizontal position is another solution, yes. A pretty good one actually, but very fiddly to do imo.

What I'm testing is more like a low key version of Moonman's plugs tho - I'm just not sure if it seals sufficiently well yet.

Not great for transport like the Majohn but they are reusable so for some there will be no need to buy another set of catridges.

All good things for the community

These are as advertised. No annoying plug that can get stuck after a few refill attempts. Very convenient portable option for carrying your own ink of choice. Black, red, blue, and green Birmingham Pen Company inks going into these for work.

I just purchased the 6 cartridges kit that comes prefilled with black ink, I have no idea what ink is in these cartridges, did any of you try the inks? Is the ink in these cartridges any good?
