Very nice indeed, David.

Apart from the quality of the nib work, I've always been an admirer of Visconti's Voyager clip.

Thanks!

This is my first Visconti of this line. The clip may be the most functional of any pen I own.

David

I'm planning to use my Parker 180 tonight, trying out the Lamy Azurite that just arrived.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

@A Smug Dill I hope the MaJohn A1 I bought has a nib like yours. I am not fond of EF, F and M nibs, well certainly not my favorites.

Is it the same limited edition Hogwart's/Harry Potter magic wand the Raj on The Big Bang Theory bought?         'A stick!'

Just the stand.  It was from a hand-made trinket seller on Etsy.  Small pens won't fit.  Duofold Centennial just barely.  Winston is fine.

Diplomat Magnum in a shiny ice blue color.  Needed to grab an inexpensive pen to bring with me.  I didn't have time to fill with ink so popped in a cartridge of Diamine Majestic Blue.  I didn't even flush the pen. 🐑

Vintage (I think late 30’s — early 40’s) Osmia/W.A Faber-Castell Supra 774D

Small rigid 14k EF nib, piston filler, celluloid body with ebonite top on the cap. Nice pen, in my opinion. May be little bit short for me (125mm length with cap).

leonardo momento zero grande dark hawaii - nib swap to a custom titanium bock #6 from fpnibs.  really has become a superb xf writer after some smoothing and heat setting.

No enablement desired, BTW: I am NOT going down the rabbit hole. 😐

Er, quoting myself: not a good sign!

Well, it turns out I have gone down the rabbit hole (briefly - and only for my birthday!), so here we are with today’s pen, freshly inked with Diamine Turquoise…

I present to you a photo of my Sailor Shikiori Tsukuyo-no-Minamo Shimoyo, in all its splendour:

🫣☺️🙄  Embarrassing, but a lovely pen nevertheless.

Nice! And, eh, what good is going down a rabbit hole if you don't come back up with something good?? ;)

Yes, indeed!  Thank you, the pen really is very nice.  I recently heard this particular line of pens being described as a “gateway” to the more mainstream gold-nibbed Sailors.  I can only hope not to get properly addicted, but at least now I have some idea of why people are so ready to invest in this brand.

While I am using these pens today, I have in fact been using them all month as I take notes to complete a course.

Twisbi Vac700 with Lamy Dark Lilac

Vintage Pelikan 400 with KWZ Aztec Gold

Parker 61 with Diamine Classic Green.

A really handsome set of inks, in a very FP friendly notebook that I've had sitting around.

The Parker 180 again which, having flushed the Lamy Azurite, is now sporting Diamine Manggis from Pen Gallery. I also brought the M405 blue-striped with Kana-cho but haven't really used it.

A 1940s Burnham, sadly a long defunct brand. The tipping is perhaps a smidge too broad for cursive writing, but the nib is a marvel - soft and springy, it feels as if the pen gently pushes you to write on. C3F57947-AB69-493C-BE8B-FB4B8845335F.thumb.jpeg.09b7f501519b0cfe88d223658b2a2d3f.jpeg98365DE0-BFE0-433B-9A50-A81A0B5CDB95.thumb.jpeg.c4045af5f07006ab1282c5002ea86a8c.jpeg

I have a similar vintage Burnham. It ranks very highly amongst my favourite vintage pens.

Another British vintage brand that ranks highly is Wyvern.
