Many thanks for the kind words, @essayfaire! (Also, @amberleadavis, @DvdRiet.) 😊

I am too new at both drawing and fountain pens to really post my attempts, but I'd appreciate a link to the thread so I can enjoy and appreciate the art of others. Thank you! (I may still contribute drawings as I learn and get more exuberant about my art.)

Today it's been the Mabie Todd Swan ringtop, flex(-ish) nib, with Waterman Mysterious Blue; and the Parker Eversharp/45 hybrid, M nib, with Kobe Suma Beach Blue.

Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

This morning, a Montblanc 244G, inked with Montblanc Midnight Blue. Is this the colour of midnight?

Many thanks, @essayfaire. I am chrious if we could even build a chart of most useful inks for botanical drawing. I know such a chart exists for colored pencils, e.g., in Ann Swan's Botanical Painting with Coloured Pencils

What is the nib grade on this pen? It looks like OB or OM. It writes wonderfully!

Wonderful pen, @mallymal1. @BlueJ, I am equally curious but estimate OB or even OBB. Hopefully, we will have our curiosity sated 😄

After acquiring a Pelikan 100N Transitional from ‘42-‘44 with an exquisite ‘OF’ nib a few months ago, I have been hooked on vintage Pelikans ever since. I just received this Pelikan 400 Tortoiseshell Brown from the early ’50s with a ‘KF’ nib and it even came with box and papers!

Today's journal pen is a grey Parker 45 with an Accountant nib. I have it inked with a black Quink cartridge. The A nib, ordered separately, arrived long ago, while the pen itself was stalled in transit for over a month and feared lost. Finally here, I'm delighted to find the nib does fit, I LOVE the way it writes and, the biggest surprise, engraved on the cap: Made in Australia.

Will work for pens...

K stands for Kugel (ball) and the KF nib is supposed to act like a ball point pen, meaning you can write at any angle. This nib in particular is kind of stubbish like most vintage nibs back in the day. So in this case, it is a fine ballpoint variety. Interestingly, the packaging labels it as F but the nib is labelled KF.
