What pen(s) are you using today?

And here I thought I didn’t like rose gold. Wrong again!

Today at work I’m using a Kaweco Dia 2 (black) with a Bock 076 <m> ground to a CSI by Kirk Speer, with Iroshizuku Kon-Peki. This is a newish nib, and although I had to train my hand not to roll the pen ccw, I’m really loving it now: it’s a great balance of crisp-edged and smooth.

Sorry for my handwriting but I'm left-handed and have been writing from the side all my life and now I'm trying to switch to writing from the bottom 💀

In fact, your handwritten communication is quite acceptable... imo, of course.

Today it's been a Montblanc 146 with a broad nib. It's a very smooth writer, but I am thinking of having it stubbed in order to get more "character." This does not seem to be an issue with my broad Pelikans, of which I have two M800s and one broad M400. The broad Pelikans seem to be more expressive. Anyone know why that might be? On the other hand (not literally), my fine nibbed Montblanc 146 has more character than my fine nibbed Pelikan. Go figure...

Using a Visconti Opera Typhoon with a tubular "mosquito filler" nib.  At first, skipped on downstroke, but now is writing just fine.

I saw a Retro 51 pen that was a store exclusive, then I saw the price. So that made me choose a Retro 51 pen I own for today. It’s the Stealth Black one with 1.1mm stub nib filled with Diamine Wonders of the World Chichen Itza ink.

Is that the SE version?  I had #3/40 some years ago and ended up selling it at the St Louis show in 2019.

I'm not sure.  It says #0910/1000, which seems like a lot less special an edition than the one you had.

A brass Monteverde One Touch Tool F with an MV black compact cartridge. Not one, not two, but three metric scales as well as inches; a level; a stylus tip for your phone or tablet; Philips and flat screwdrivers; and a perfectly serviceable nib. Honestly I don't picture many carpenters taking a pricey fountain pen to work, but it is an amusing design.

Also a Levenger Argento F with iroshizuku shin-kai.

So far today it's been the Medieval Lapis Noodler's Konrad, flex nib, with diluted Noodler's Luxury Blue (I was too lazy to flush it out completely).

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Second unit of a Majohn (aka Moonman) B25 I recently bought and received. Both units performed similarly. Usable, but certainly not a nice pen (for me, anyway), either ergonomically or in how it puts ink on the page.

I see that a couple of people bought the Monteverde Strata in black with the Omniflex nib for $5.74. This is the standard Jowo #6 extra-flex.  I've been buying these when they become available for several months. I'm not a big fan of the Strata, too heavy, but I love the nibs & swap them into a variety of pens that use Jowo nib units.  I keep the converters & nib units & throw the pens away.  The $5.74 deal is available at the moment:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CVNQ1BBB

If it has disappeared by the time you look, just set a price watch on camelcamelcamel.com.  At one time the blue was also at that price.  I ordered 2 on back order and eventually the order was cancelled by Amazon because the pen was no longer available.  Two days later it was back at $37.  I contacted Amazon and asked them to honor the $5.74 price.  Instead they gave me a credit for the difference in price on the two & I was able to use that credit to buy a dozen of the black.  My strangest Amazon transaction ever.

I bought one of those, @lascosas. The weight is ok, if it was a larger size, maybe not. The nibs are nice, and handle shimmery inks well.

Speaking of shimmery inks, the pen for today, a Wing Sung 698 clear demonstrator in SF- on its second fill of standard Pelikan ink (first was Edelstein Sapphire, then 4001 Turquoise) after Edelstein Golden Lapis and the shimmer is still very in your face.

Shout out to the Pen Collectors of America- just received a welcome package and I am thoroughly chuffed! Thank you!
