Your Hippo on Ice analogy is so appropriate.  I was just having this discussion with @Lithium466, who has  the same Pilot 743<sf> as I do.  We remarked that those Pilot SF nibs felt so slippery it seemed like they were out of control.

I'm glad it's not just me! I do really like the nib, but wow.

That's an... interesting design to say the least. Maybe the red finial is intended for the... serial biters? 😃

Today’s pen of the day is a TWSBI Diamond Mini AL in Mint Blue with 1.1mm stub nib filled with Diamine Soft Mint ink.

I wouldn't mind seeing your other mix, the Yama-Guri with sky blue holographic mica.  That sounds interesting too..😀👍

The original version of the Parker 45 flighter had plastic tassies in black, red, and blue that I know of, matching the plastic of the section.

+1. The colour  Parker 45 pens are not common on the market.

I have a 45 Flighter and it has the black tassie.

I've never seen one with a blue tassie.  Now I'm curious about what shade of blue.  Dark, like a Midnight Blue barrel, or more of a medium blue like my 45 Arrow....

Today's journal pen was a newly arrived Faber-Castell Hexo Bronze with an EF nib and Robert Oster Bronze ink. The nib really is extra fine too, with a slight and very pleasing feedback

Will work for pens...

Degussa nib. Amazing line variation.

WOW!  That's some flex you've got there!

The problem is that nibs like that would be totally lost on me....

As for me, today's pens have been the Do-Write lever filler (not sure of the nib width, but probably F), still with Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black; and the Parker Vector Looney Toons Sylvester pen, F nib, still with Noodler's La Reine Mauve.
