Wow, what a coincidence! The Case Peanut and Sailor 1911L are pretty new to me, but I’ve absolutely loved both of them. The pencil-like feel of the Sailor nib is addictive.

My sad tale concerns a Sheaffer Valiant that I forgot was in my jeans pocket. It went through the whole wash, spin and dry cycle in the automatic washing machine! Incredibly, it was fine and still wrote perfectly well when I later recovered it. Thank goodness it hadn't also been steam ironed...

I wouldn't recommend it though.

Today it's been the Harry Potter "Ravenclaw" al-Star, M nib, still with Lamy Vibrant Pink; and the one of the India Black 51 Vacs (rolled gold cap and blue diamond clip and "T6" date code) -- the one that DOESN"T have a name engraved on it and DIDN'T have a box when I got it -- still with vintage Quink Permanent Blue.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Hauled out my old Parker Senior Deluxe Durfold.  For being nearly 100 years old it does a pretty good job.

Today’s pen of the day is a vintage Pilot Elite with a steel grid cap, B nib, and a cartridge of Pilot-Namiki black ink.

Bexley Corona with a medium CI nib by Richard Binder.  Enjoyed it for nearly 14 years.

Today has mostly been a Faber-Castell Neo Slim Olive with an EF nib. Filled with Graf von Faber-Castell Olive.

Bullet journal was the usual: Kaweco Perkeo All Black with a posting nib and Kaweco Caramel.

Will work for pens...

I bought the fp and bp while they were at normal price. This is not the original nib but an 18k medium italic.20250203_205003.thumb.jpg.82a16e01ec52bd6e084d8e05ef3a2b5b.jpg20250203_205142.thumb.jpg.282eceaeb0097255a691a7f46bfc05e5.jpg

Thank you for sharing the picture, @thx1138. The italic M nib makes it even better!

Thanks.

The quality of the French nibs is superb.  The 18k Sonnet, NG 51, and Duofold nibs are a reminder that Parker (and Waterman) have retained the skills to make nibs of the highest quality

This is very true. I have a MK1 Duofold M I bought in ‘91 that I had Kirk Speer grind into a crisp italic recently. It’s amazing!

Today’s pen is a Waterman Caréne Black Sea that is also a wonderful pen. It’s inked with Teranishi Lady Emerald.

Stipula Passaporto, Miami Sunrise edition, eyedropper filled with De Atramentis Document Dark Green.

It writes quite nicely except for a tendency to be a slow starter.  With this version, the cap screws on in the posted position.  If I recall, some of the other versions did not have this feature, which I would consider necessary on such a tiny pen.

Waterman Carene Amber - fine nib.

I put a Waterman black cartridge in and so far the pen is behaving itself.

Many inks just seem to leak out of the breather hole leaving a horrible mess in the cap and on the section.

Today's pen, deliberately chosen to compare to yesterday's Faber Castell Neo Slim, is a Gunmetal Loom with an EF nib and J Herbin Cacao du Bresil. They do have a very similar pencilly feel on the paper which I enjoy. Also the Loom seals remarkably well. This one has been inked since December 2020... and last used at the end of 2023.

Will work for pens...

I also have one of these and mine, like yours, has a cap that screws on for posting. I take it when traveling and I use cartridges. I haven't used it as an eyedropper. I imagine that gives you a whole lot of milage!
