What pen(s) are you using today?

Today's pen arrived yesterday. Sort of. The pen itself arrived at Christmas  fitted with a shadow nib, but I immediately saw then that I wouldn't get much use from it like that and the pen deserved more attention so I ordered an extra fine 060 nib for it and delayed the first inking.

So... it's now a Kaweco Student All Clear with an extra fine nib. (Clearly it doesn't write very extra fine...) The ink is Kaweco Pearl Black. The converter was extra, which is annoying given the cost of the pen, but does look good...

Will work for pens...

@AmandaW -- What is a "shadow nib"?  I don't think I've come across the term before?

As for me, today it's been the al-Star "Harry Potter Ravenclaw'" pen, M nib, still with Lamy Vibrant Pink; and one of the India Black 51 Vacs with a T6 date code, F? nib, still with vintage Quink Permanent Blue.

Today’s pen of the day is a Levenger True Writer Kyoto with an unbranded Edison 1.1mm italic nib filled with limited edition Midori Navy ink.

Broad nib CS Belliver.

It was used to write one word in my Filofax diary.  Other than three emails, that one word is the only thing all I wrote all day.

Today was a 'Veg day'.  I took the day off.

Great Pic.  Good Color. 😀👍

Which pen has which ink?

What were the modifications?  It looks like one is a stub or Italic.

What paper were you writing on?

If only I could write like you..... 🤷‍♂️

Montblanc 149-a former work horse.  Followed a tip on how to increase inkflow:  did I everCleaned and put away.

The other large MBs urged me to bring back the 149.  So, followed a tip on how to reduce flow.  It worked and, through no skill of my own, the nib is as smooth as it was in its youth despite my futzing around.

Though the 149 and I entered the world in the same year, I don't think that prejudices my opinion that this is a charter member of the Pantheon of great pens.

Today’s pen is the second Levenger True Writer Kyoto I bought, and put an Opus 88 B nib in the pen. It is filled with Iroshizuku TsuKushi ink.

I didn't intend to criticize your choices in any way. My point was that even though I like the LAMY 2000 in how it looks and certainly recognize its iconic status, I really can't... stomach the way it writes I write with it 🙂

I didn't think you were criticizing at all. We all settle into what works best for us. Thankfully there's lots of choices because we're all different. Different size hands, writing styles, etc. It actually took me a while to write well with my Lamy. It certainly has a sweet spot but finally muscle memory kicked in.

Current lineup:

Lamy 2000

A bunch of others

Agreed.  I've seen people with hands as small as mine wielding large, relatively heavy pens (much too heavy for me to use comfortably for more than a couple of minutes).  And a friend of mine uses (or at least used to use) relatively thin pens, even though his hands are much larger than mine.

And I've got pens in all sorts of lengths/girths/weights now -- from skinny pens like Parker Vectors to the (large, but lightweight) vintage Sheaffer Balance Oversize which had been my husband's grandfather's pen.
