Those things write way better than they should.

It's a wonder isn't it, them being 'capless' and all. Woe to the Viscontis and their touted 'hook safe'™ system 😒

What a cute combo! Are you alternating red and green inks for the month, or is that just coincidence? To compliment, I will use my Jinhao 80 with the dark green Alfoncine shimmer ink.

So far I am. I’ll be using the Greenfield School pen with 1.0 stub nib @AmandaW gave me. It had Edelstein Olivine ink in it, but looks empty. So I’ll refill it, and use it tomorrow (Wednesday).

edit: I didn’t find the olivine ink right away, so I filled the pen with Diamine Ultra Green.

Today's pen arrived today, an unplanned Black Friday find. It's a Dark Brown Lamy Studio with an extra fine nib. When I opened the box I was surprised to see it included a converter. The ink is a Diamine Advent ink from a few years ago - Triple Chocolate.  Yum. 🤎

Sorry, if it looks black in my photo, but it really is dark brown and even has a tiny shimmer to reward a close look.

Will work for pens...

You described it perfectly @AmandaW The pen does have a shimmer to it. Mine with its Toffee brown ink says hello to yours with the triple chocolate ink. Our pens have the opposite of nibs, from your EF to my 1.1mm italic. Still pen twins though.

A plastic-bodied Pilot Falcon with SEF nib. Not one of my daily drivers but an enjoyable pen nonetheless.

Today is a new "daily driver".  A Parker IM w/ their blue ink cartridge.  For me, a daily pen is low enough cost that I won't get too upset if I loose it while out and about.

Today I will be using a Staedtler IF calligraphy pen with Chinese red ink with gold shimmer for fun, to compliment my pen buddy. In my planner, because it is thin and barely fp friendly (yay, last month of use!), I am using a blue Parker 45 Accountant nib with vintage Quink black.

Top 5 of 25 currently inked pens:

MontBlanc 144 IB, Herbin Orange Indien/ Wearingeul Frost

Waterman’s 52V red ripple ring top, Herbin Vert de Gris

Parker 88 Place Vendôme IB, Diamine Golden Sands

Parker “51” Desk pen EF, Sailor Manyo Konagi

Yiren Giraffe IEF, Pilot Yama-Guri/sky blue holographic mica

always looking for penguin fountain pens and stationery

So far today it's been the Cordovan Brown 51 Vac, still with diluted Pelikan 4001 Royal Blue (it was easier to just refill the pen with distilled water than to flush ).

Santini Giant Intenso Blue with a cursive italic nib and rhodium trim. Beautiful blue chatoyance on a cold day, and lovely writing pen.

Montblanc Noblesse with a medium-ish nib and De Atramentis Document Cyan Ink.  I have two of these; the other, not currently inked, has a much finer nib.  No other Montblancs.

I had to sign a contract today, and had a different fountain pen with me, a Sheaffer Imperial with a Sheaffer black cartridge.  But that ink is not even close to being water resistant.  I ended up signing with the cheap ballpoint that was handed to me.

Oh the shame!  🫣

What's worse is being handed a tablet and stylus to sign a contract electronically.  That happened to me in July when I purchased a new car.

Wow.  That really would suck.  I think the last time we bought a vehicle I signed with one of the Noodler's Konrads filled with Noodler's Kung Te Cheng....

Today’s pen is a Kaweco AL Sport Ruby Red with 1.1mm stub nib. I forgot is had a cartridge of Waterman Vibrant Pink. I was thinking it could be Kaweco Ruby Red. Oh well, it’s a dark pink. At least the pen is very red.

Hey Paul, what make of car did you purchase? I have no idea what is manufactured or sold in Australia. Are stick shifts still available?

Continuing on, as I have been all week, with the second generation Esterbrook "Dollar" with a 2556 nib. I have several of these nibs and while they all perform very well, they are not the same.

Our domestic car production died a slow agonizing death thanks in part to those who 'manage state affairs' and the corporate directors (General  Motors, etc.).  What is left is mostly the major Asian and European name brands.

I bought a 2025 John Cooper Works Mini Countryman with all the bells and whistles made in Leipzig Germany by BMW who now owns the brand.  It replaced the 2019 Countryman I bought after my late wife passed away.

I had considered the Jaguar F Pace, but decided against it when I found out the brand was going all EV in 2025.  Somehow an electric 'Jag' just isn't a 'Jag'.  Besides, I don't really believe that EVs are the solution to Climate Change.  I suspect that Hydrogen powered vehicles will prove to be the better choice.
