I’m trying to use up ink that was put into pens this summer, so the Wing Sung 698 SF with Pelikan Golden Lapis is my pen buddy today. The feed is gold, there’s so much shimmer in this ink.

Top 5 of 26 (in no particular order) currently inked pens:

Pelikan M300 CIF, Pelikan Edelstein Golden Beryl

MontBlanc 144R F, Diamine Bah Humbug

Pelikan M605 F, Pelikan Edelstein Moonstone

Waterman Caréne Black Sea, Teranishi Lady Emerald

Pilot 742 FA, Namiki Purple cartridge

Hi @inkstainedruth according to Levenger, the True Writer is based on the vintage Esterbrook pens, though larger. They have the two jewels, first black, later matching the pen.

This link takes you to a True Writer history page. If you remember the green pen you saw, you might will find it, and its name there.

Thanks.  Color-wise, the Origins Anniversary pen looked closest, but the colors on that seemed to be more blended together than the pen the woman showed me the photo of (hers was closer to the type of material like here: http://parkercollector.com/parco.html#parkette -- especially the green pen in the middle of the second block of images (I think the 1933 models), and the 3rd one from the top in the section showing  "Parkette Juniors".

Today it's a two-fer. I bought a Waltham combo because it was too pretty to pass up. The nib was mangled beyond my repair abilities. A section and nib from the parts bin fit just right, so a Waltham Frankenpen was born. It liiivvveess!

That is a very interesting material used in those!  I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like that before.

Nice find!

No worries.  I saw the first photo and just presumed it was a set.  OTOH, I've been a little fuzzy the past few days (and the weather around here hasn't helped), nor has the reconstruction on the driveway (which was SUPPOSED to have started several weeks ago, and we will now have to shell out a whole lot more money on a retaining wall on one side on top of that....

Restored "Townsend" flat top with M/B slightly flex nib, fully restored.

Bright red/orange Salz Brothers flat top w/fine (est) flex nib (better than semi-flex and not super flex nib, fully restored.

Both14K nibs with "8" on them. The Salz Brothers one has an Eversharp nib.

Today it's been the recently acquired black Parker 61 (F? nib), after reconstituting whatever ink was in the capillary sponge this morning.

Yesterday’s pen of the day was the Kaweco AL Sport Iguana Blue with 1.1mm stub nib filled with Kaweco Paradise Blue.

Today’s pen of the day is the Kaweco AL Sport Vibrant Violet with F nib. The ink is a cartridge filled with Waterman Tender Purple.

Today I used the MB 144 IB. It’s surprisingly hard to run through an international standard cartridge sometimes- it’s had the same one since July.

Nope, the short one. I’ve had it inked and in regular use since mid July.

It's a bunch of different inks.  Started out with 3 drops of Yama-Budo and Ama-Iro, but it didn't have enough character so I added a few drops of Diption blue flame.  I thought it needed more turquoise so I added some Blue Water Ice.  Now it was too turquoise so I added some Jack Frost to 'blue' it up more....  I used up most of it with dip pens and put what was left in the Asvine P20 which I don't like at all.  Since I mixed the ink in a small shallow inkwell, the only way I could get it into the Asvine was to unscrew the nib and syringe it in.
