I also have a Frankenpen going- a Jinhao 80 with a Lamy Z55 EF nib; inked with YuYi Alfoncine. I am also using a Lamy 2000 EF, inked with Sailor Shikiori Iriori.

A parade of EFs. 😀👍
Nice nib for a Jinhao 80.  That’s some Frankenpen!  I’ll bet it’s a great writer. 👍

My Lamy 2K is just the opposite, with an OM nib.  I’ve been thinking about getting an EF.

Talk about pens that feel nice in the hand….  👍😀

(I Like your choice of inks)👍

It is a great writer! The nib is very fun and bouncy, it shows off shimmer and sheen despite being so narrow.

Endless Pens usually has good prices for the L2k spare nibs.

I keep thinking about doing that....  I have a few Jinhao 80s with Lamy nibs that I'm not using..... So tempting....

I know you have the EF, but do you recommend the F or the EF?

EDIT:  I just check and 'Endless' is out of stock...  Saved from another impluse buy !! 😱

I know the question wasn't for me (and that you say it's out of stock), but the EF is already quite thick. Bonus point-if you get the F, the tipping material is soft and easily ground (unless they changed it).

(also I gave up on my Jinhao 80, they don't seal well at all, hard start bonanza after a few hours)

Edit: I may need Sailor Illinois now. My wallet hates you 😛

All the questions are for you too.  😀

Don't you hear it, an Illinois sample is calling.

When it's dark and concentrated it's hard to tell Illinois from 743 but it's not a Blurple like 743, it's a blue.😀

Over the past weekend I was talking to a woman who remembered me as the "pen person" and she had her husband send her a screenshot of her pen, which turned out to be a True Writer.  I don't enough about that brand, but the material seemed to be a green marble in color.

Today, for me, it's been the no-name hooded nib lever filler I got rehabbed at OPS.  Refilled last night with Waterman Inspired Blue.

Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Hi @inkstainedruth according to Levenger, the True Writer is based on the vintage Esterbrook pens, though larger. They have the two jewels, first black, later matching the pen.

This link takes you to a True Writer history page. If you remember the green pen you saw, you might will find it, and its name there.

Today’s pen of the day is a Monteverde Prima in red swirl with 1.1mm stub nib, and a cartridge of Monteverde red ink. It reminds me of a candy cane that has been licked, where the colors smear.

Tonight I journaled with my blue Wahl-Eversharp Skyline Fine Flex, inked with R&K’s “Blue-Eyed Mary.” The ink capacity of this pen is a bit of a surprise. I inked it months ago.

I looked it up but there were conflicting reports.  In your opinion, does that Purple lean red or blue?
