I’m in Japan and sketching a bit with my Sailor x Bungubox Norwegian Wood 1911L Realo (MF) with DeAtramentis Document Sepia.  I haven’t gotten to Bungubox yet but this pen attracted the attention of the representative at Shosaiken.  He was curious where I got it because he really liked green pens.

@langere, that Stipula is really eye-catching!

@Surlyprof, the light shimmer/glitter in your pen is quite attractive!

@ZeroDukE, that is probably my favorite color on vintage pens.  So lovely!

And thanks to all of you for sharing pictures.  It helps a relative newbie to see what the pens people are talking about actually look like!

Yesterday I used a number of pens:

  • Reform unknown version with Faber-Castell black cartridge ink
  • Parker 45 flighter with Monteverde Brown Sugar
  • Glass dip pen with a bunch of different inks I was sampling, along with my Retro 51 Tornado 1.1mm stub and my Faber-Castell Hexo XF nib with one of the Taccia inks I sampled (can't remember which).

In my EDC, I have my trusty Platinum Curidas, inked with Platinum Blue Black. It gets used all day, every day. It also holds my Midori-esque notebook closed. (It currently has 2 Field Notes, a Moleskine, and a Sunny Light fitted into it.)

In my Catch-All notebook (currently a TR52 Endless Recorder from Federalist Pens), I've my fave TWSBI Eco Persian Green with Kirk Speer's needlepoint grind, inked with Diamine Onyx Black. For accenting my notes, I've a TWSBI Diamond 580 AL-Rose EF inked up with Diamine Scarlet,  a Platinum Preppy (02) with a cartridge refilled with Iroshizuku Tsutsuji, and a Uni-Ball Signo UM-153 (Broad, approx 1.0mm) gold gel pen.

I'm about 3/4 of the way through that notebook and am pondering which of my blank notebooks I will use next, to say nothing of how I am labeling my current notebook for indexing purposes.

Since switching to fountain pens as my writing instrument of choice, I'm actually going through notebooks at a faster pace than before, so it's a good thing.

I, too, have found that I seem to write more since coming back to fountain pens.

Oh and I forgot my cargo pocket pen stash!

I've a Platinum Procyon Turquoise (Fine) inked up with Platinum Blue Black, a Pilot Coleto Hi-Tec-C (0.3mm) 5 color multipen for more color coding of notes, a Pilot Metropolitan Retro Pop Red Wave (Fine) inked with Robert Oster Red Candy, and a Pentel Twist-Erase mechanical pencil (0.5mm) with HB lead.

The case is actually a pocket protector in *leather*, which I upgraded to because the stereotypical plastic ones wouldn't last a year in my cargo pocket. I've had this one for over 4 years and it's wearing like iron. An added bonus: the suede interior is kinder to my pens and the flap is thick enough to allow my pens to grip firmly and stay in place.

I've actually fallen away from using these pens daily since starting the Midori-esque EDC roughly a year ago. Prior to this, these pens were my daily drivers. I still have them in my cargo pocket as a back-up kit, *just in case* I forget my other notebooks and pens. They are my security blanket EDC, as it were, and my cargo pocket feels empty without them in it.

Also: not pictured is a Pilot Precise V5 RT (retractable) for marking up orders at work.

You'd think having a pocket case of 4 writing instruments, an EDC anchored with an FP, and a reliable retractable gel pen--a round half dozen!--would be enough pens for everyday use, but no.

I still want to bring more along with me. LOL!

It's SO. MUCH. MORE. FUN. with fountain pens.

And you just can't beat the nib size and ink choices.

SO MUCH FUN!

How is the balance of the Yard-o-led?

It has a very nice balance unposted, of course, it is badly unbalanced if posted. (which I don't do)
