I have NEVER had a Varsity dry up on me except when it finally ran out of ink. Not even after a year of non-use (and who knows how long they remain in packets on store shelves).

That's impressive.  Especially since I had a Varsity run out of ink in about 3 days worth of morning pages entries....

Today it's been 3 pens:

(1) The new to me (possibly NOS) Parker Vector "Electra", F nib, with Diamine Green Edition One More Sleep (a pretty blue violet -- fairly light in color but still dark enough to be legible on the page; I think I see a full bottle of this in my future... ).

(2) Sailor 1911S Loch Ness Monster, MF nib, still with Sailor Souboku.

(3) Lamy Azure al-Star, SE, Hanzi nib, newly inked up with the other new ink I just got -- Lamy Pink Cliff (not sure if it counts as an LE or an SE).

I’m using a pen that arrived today. It’s a Kaweco Sport Collection Apricot with BB nib. The cartridge that came with it was the Sunrise Orange ink, and seemed appropriate to use.

Another Kaweco arrived today, the Cyan version.

Levenger Pinkly with a new nib unit - a Schmidt FH241 Fine to replace the medium that came with the pen. Happy now. The medium was too broad for me for ordinary writing. The ink is Pilot Yama Budo.

Today’s pen (I was so bad, and got up so late) was the Goldspot/Kaweco Ultimate Gray transparent pen with BB nib, filled with Birmingham Pens Lunar Dust.

Along with a Pelikan, of course, tonight I'm using the other pen I got from my Dad, a Waterman Expert, in black lacquer with gold trim, which I have inked with Robert Oster Heart of Gold. A nice enough pen, heavy compared to the M400 (and a bit longer than I'm used to) but a smooth writer.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Today I've mostly used a Pilot Deluxe Diamond Cut, 18k fine nib with Diamine's Monaco Red ink. The photo doesn't really show how brightly the diamond cut shines.

I am a big fan of both the pen and ink, which is probably my favorite red!

I am somewhat new to Namiki/Pilot Blue. It is a lovely color. I use it increasingly for daily writing.

First exposed to pilot blue as part of a package my wife gifted me for my last birthday with a verdigris 743.  It’s been a solid, reliable ink for me so far.

What paper are  you using?  I have vintage Namiki Blue, which I would think is the same ink, but it's very picky about what paper I use. Feathers on a lot of paper.

Mainly Rhodia at home, but I’ve had good luck with the copy paper at work also.

A Pilot Prera Slate Grey with a fine italic nib (from a Plumix) and Taccia Ainezu.

Odd how the smaller nib inspires me to slow down and take a little more care. Not great care, not as good as the italic hand I worked so hard to achieve a few years ago, just a smidge less scrawly. Do I care? Sadly, no, times have changed, these days I'm happy enough to get the thought down before it escapes me.

I use Pilot (Namiki) Blue and Blue-black inks. They are my workhorse inks, and if made in Japan (says Japan on the bottle) the ink is extremely water-resistant or even waterproof.

Today so far it's been the freebie Pilot Plumix (swag from the talk on the history of Vanishing Points at B/W), now that I got the Con-B converter for it installed.  Inaugural ink was Iroshizuku Tsuyu-kusa.  A bit of serious burping/bleedthrough at first, but the pen seems to have settled down.

Was able to (somewhat) compare yesterday's and today's journal entries.  Think I like Tsuyu-kusa a tad more than Namiki Blue, color-wise, but can't tell if it's just the difference in nib widths between the F nib on the Decimo and the IM nib on the Plumix.  And of course still really bummed that Tsuyu-kusa was discontinued....
