My 1st Montblanc, inked with 1864.

Today in commemoration of Saint Patrick, I am using my Forest Green Pilot 74 with a medium nib and Pilot Blue ink, paired with a green Pentel Kerry pencil.  Each are favorites. I don't really use green ink, so I don't think I have any on hand. Anyone else celebrating the day with their choice of pen?

I have to write some ledger entries in green today, so I will be using my little Platinum SF pocket pen with the white background and  🌺; inked with Platinum green. I also have to make other entries in red, using a gold electroplated Sheaffer Fashion I with a medium nib; inked with vintage Parker Quink Permanent Red. I will document the black Platignum ink in my previous post in my 366 inks in 366 days journal as well, once the footy is over this morning.

So far today it's been the recently repaired Esterbrook Dollar pen, 3668 Sunburst Firm Medium nib, with Waterman Mysterious Blue.

ETA: And now, a few hours later, also the recently repaired Mabie Todd Swan ringtop, with Waterman Tender Purple.

An after 2000 805 Pelikan OBB...with Diamine Brandy Dazel...I had wondered what ink was in it (found out I'd not marked an in on that pens card..)...then a bunch of glitter showed up...ah...ha.

The pen got shook up enough by regular writing and putting down,  for the glitter to appear.

The other pen is my 'brand new' '50s MB 261, who has an F-EF nib, not the marked M. MB toffee.

Of my 6-8 MB's, only two are barrel marked for nib size, this one and a (52-54 only) 234 1/2 Deluxe KOB.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

Ooh.  Have not tried 4001 Brilliant Green (although I'm a HUGE fan of Edelstein Olivine).

I should have noted that the Pelikan inks were Vintage inks.  I might be mistaken but I thought that @Bo Bo Olson remarked that Pelikan Green had changed and is no longer as vibrant as it used to be.

That may be so, but I think I saw a swab/writing sample on one of the online pen store sites the other day, and it still seems to be a *dark* green....

Pelikan 4001 ‘Brilliant Green’ was a light/vibrant/bright shade of green.
IIRC @Bo Bo Olson liked its colour and because it gave some shading.

A few years ago, Pelikan discontinued it, and replaced it with their 4001 ‘Dark Green’.
IIRC one reason why Bo Bo dislikes the new ink is that it dries to a ‘flat’ colour that doesn’t give any shading.

Today is one of the rare occasions when I have only ‘posh’ or ‘fancy’ pens on the go.
Pens in-use chez moi today:

Early-1980s Pelikan M400 in ‘Brown Tortoiseshell’. ‘M’ nib.
Inked with Pelikan Edelstein ‘Smoky Quartz’.

1990-92 ‘W.-Germany’ Pelikan M800 in green stripes. ‘M’ nib. Which is much wider than the ‘M’ nib on its early-1980s sibling.
Inked with Pelikan Edelstein ‘Aquamarine’.

Cheap plastic Chinese pen that looks pretty(like bambou) and has a surprisingly nice nib filled with Diamine 150th Tropical Green.  I didn't have an Irish green. ;)
