On the other hand, I realize that owning only one would severely limit my ability to use contrasting colors or nibs of various sizes that behave on the different surfaces upon which I write.

I often have more than one project going on, and I like to have a rainbow of colors and a bunch of nib types/sizes available for writing and artwork.

Top 5 of 25 currently inked pens:

MontBlanc 144 IB, Herbin Orange Indien/ Wearingeul Frost

Sailor Mini Pro Gear Slim M, Van Dieman’s Neptune’s Necklace

Waterman’s 52V red ripple ring top, Herbin Vert de Gris

Parker 88 Place Vendôme IB, Diamine Golden Sands

Wing Sung 698 SF, Pelikan Edelstein Golden Lapis/ Sapphire

Today it's been the Vibrant Pink al-Star, 1.1 mm nib, still with Noodler's Grinch Garnet; and the Sheaffer Star Wars Pop "R2-D2" pen, M nib, still with vintage Skrip V-Black.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Ooh, I love Skylines!  One of the most inventive shapes for fountain pens and such good writers!

In turn, I just inked up my Stipula Adagio in Purple - I have always liked Stipula and I think the Adagio is a severely underrated pen.

Parker 51 Flighter with Lamy mango ink.

I spent the day with a Flighter as well. I haven't used it in quite a while and I needed to reacquaint myself with it.  I'm not crazy about Parker 51s, but this one, with its fine nib, is good for taking notes in the margins. It's filled with plain old black Quink.

My 'new' 1952 Danish MB 204 in Coral Red has been delivered yesterday. It is a wonderful looking pen, writes with the correct feedback and I love it. It fits my hand perfectly as well without posting. What a pen!!!!

It IS a highlighter!

It highlights the fun of a fountain pen  that stands out from the usual, and often mundane, shapes and colors of many pens (of all kinds).

It also highlights the fact that YOU CAN write cursive.

AND that you are a discerning individual (imho -:-) of course).

I received my first vintage Eversharp Skyline this week. Richard’s Pens has a photo of the US postage stamp featuring the 20th Century Limited train engine it was based on. You can see how much it influenced the looks of the pen.

Today’s pen is the True Writer Kyoto with a new ink called Ferris Wheel Press Land of Shangri-La. It has shimmer, but I filled it without shaking the bottle to try to avoid the shimmer particles. It’s a brown ink, and my first use of it. I noticed some green where the ink got wet on a paper towel. When I rinsed the ink miser, it looked light green after the first rinse.

I’ll start reading the book New Horizon, which has Shangri-La as a setting. Shangri-La is most likely the area called Shambhala in the Nepal/Tibet region.
