What pen(s) are you using today?

I just finished writing some notes with a Pelikan M800/green & black. It's inked with Montblanc Royal Blue and has a fine nib. It's one of my favorite writers.

It was stuck in my finger and it did hurt a little. As soon as I pulled it out, I knew it would be a "tattoo" for ever....image0(7).jpeg.4ffc3f246de7f607a8e4b0de6a274faf.jpeg

Ouch! Homemade Russian prison tattoo time.

Today, It's my impulse buy Sailor Pro Gear Every Rose Has Its Thorn with a Medium Fine 21 karat gold nib filled with Noodlers Black Swan in Australian Roses. My first gold Sailor nib and it's performing nicely. Plus, the rose gold fittings are quite pretty. (Thanks to Ana from Canada who sold it to me on eBay and included ink recommendations with some of the neatest, tiniest handwriting I've ever seen.) A bit of a waste to use a shading ink in a nib this fine, but it seems to be working so far.

Today it's been the unknown model Waterman flighter with what turned out to be a syringe-style converter, now filled with Waterman Mysterious Blue.

I decided to use the Pelikan 400 brown tortoise from 1954.  It is filled with Diamine Chocolate I think.

Today I've been playing with a Jinhao 9019 with a fine Heartbeat nib. The ink is Diamine's Onyx Black but I've been adding a photographic wetting agent to it in stages. Now it's over wetted and the fine nib writes like a very wet broad!

Also I'm trying to fix my new Asvine P20 that I dropped on the road Thursday night whilst unpacking my car. I didn't realise at the time the cap top and clip had broken off. By the time I went back and found them the next day a car had driven over the clip. Trying to re-round a flatten hoop without stretching it has turned out impossible.

So far I have penned a bulk bin label with a Speedball 1.1 mm italic nib. It has a mystery black cartridge inside, so I outlined the letters with Pelikan Blue Black using my Parker 45 F in case water spills on it.

@AmandaW and @essayfaire I went looking for Tsukushi. First I saw it was a discontinued ink. No hits in the search. Then I checked AliExpress, and found it in the small bottle. I was not sure if I wanted to purchase it. Walk away, decide later. Then I looked around, saw the True Writer Kyoto pen, which has dark browns and a touch of a purplish pink. And that was it. Hit complete purchase. I did see a review of it. Does it have a green sheen?

I don't think of it as sheening, nor of green.  But I have a good amount of it if you need some, but it sounds as if you've taken care of that!

Thanks lukeap69, I think these 9019s are great for the price. This one with a heartbeat nib delivered from Amazon for 15 quid.

I continue playing with the ink dip pens made in my workshop. I sincerely doubt I will ever make a lot of these inking tools in my lifetime due to the hours involved with just one pen. I did not get into pen making for fame or fortune. It's the pursuit of designing a inking tool which previously did not exist before 2018.

I am not a calligrapher and never will  be but I test the tips I make with pen stroke patterns used for script caps. This example shows tip testing sheets to determine if the tip functions before completing an order request.
