What pen(s) are you using today?

Thanks. The nib is like a mini stub that's been smoothed out. It adds just enough line variation to add a bit of flair to your writing without being too scratchy.

Is it a steel #6? What's the feed like?  When you say 'scratchy', do you mean feedback or "scratchy"?

I have a number of pens with a stub nib and most of them are a little scratchy. The Estie with the Journal nib eliminates most of the scratchiness of most stubs. Part of that is also because the nib is originally a medium nib that Gena grinds into a smaller stub than the typical 1.0 mm (+/-) stub. Also Gena softens the edges of the stub. I'll get back to you on the feed.

Over the next few days I'll provide a writing sample and pictures to demonstrate.

It’s a 182|Mnemosyne tablet that is a horizontal style.

I want to mention that stub nibs are usually not sharp edged. They get a touch of rounding. Italic nibs get less, and cursive italic nibs are sharpest if I remember my reading on them correctly.

Hi @USG.  The Duofold is from the mid 1950s, having the aerometric filling system.  Sorry I can't be more precise.  It has a flexible, wet nib and normally writes with a nice medium.  I used a cheap notebook picked up at a local market and could see the ink feathering a bit as I was writing.

Parker 75 Silver Cisele' with an extra fine nib inked with Noodler's Bad Belted Kingfisher.

Despite being an EF it is very very smooth, even on photocopy paper.

@Penguincollector I just wanted to add my condolences. I'm glad you have your father's pens, and they will help you to remember him with fondness. He reached a grand age, and I hope it was a peaceful end. You are in my thoughts.

I took the Aurora Optimas out for a spin:

Primavera (M) - Diamine Sapphire - Stalogy Notebook

Mare  (F) - Aurora Blue (old) -  Stalogy Notebook

There was feathering with the Diamine Sapphire ink but not with Aurora Blue. The difference in color was muted.

I'm in a soft brown sort of mood today, so it's the Opus 88 picnic brown with Montblanc Swan Illusion Plume.

Today so far it's been the Parker Vector "Shrek" Puss in Boots pen, M nib, with Robert Oster Bishop to King.

And probably later today, it may be the red Sheaffer school pen (not sure of what the nib is -- either F or M), trying to finally finish up the testing and comparison of Monterverde Ocean Noir with other inks (now that it's actually SUNNY out).  And possibly also the Noodler's Vulcan's Coral FPC, flex nib, since I finished the fill of Noodler's Heart of Darkness yesterday (just squeaked through yesterday's morning pages entry before it ran out of ink).

Tourmaline Lamy AL-star with a black B nib. I inked it with Rober Oster Liquid Gold. I used it in amy commonplace Clairefontaine A7 notebook and in my Cross ink journal, where I write a few lines with every pen I ink.

A Parker Duofold Super 17.  I've been looking for a pen made in 1965 that's reasonably attractive (which I know is subjective), easy to maintain and suitable for everyday use.  I think this fits the bill, but I will, of course, continue looking.
